Serious question- what would you replace it with?
If you skipped the heat races and lined up by time trials, 95% of the time the feature would line up the same and 99% of the time it wouldn't affect who won.

Maybe you're too young to get the reference. Google Airplane! Jive scene.

What's the incentive of having a good time trial?

The old Royal format was the dumbest in racing. Qualify 36th, win your heat and start on the pole! Idiotic. The wheel of misfortune which I believe will determine the invert after time trials makes it way better, should eliminate a lot of the sandbagging.

I think it shows once and for all that the WoO's 4 freebie rule is killing them. If they could run wherever they wanted, they'd have swept all 5 races instead of 4 of 5. It's a real shame......

How is the 4 freebie rule killing the WoO? The corporation got to control their platinum members' participation in the competition's races and that's what they wanted to do.

This week just proves their strategy, if you want to see the best you need to schedule the WoO or buy a WoO ticket

For me this week showed a couple things...first Schatz still has a lot left in the tank. Give the man a decent bullet and he is still among, if not THE best. Second, I have an irrational dislike for David Gravel. He's a helluva driver with tremendous talent. I just don't like the guy...he comes across to me like a heel to use WWE terms. Having said that, he kicked ass this week whether I like him or not which is what makes big time sprint car racing a great thing! Whether I'm watching to see a driver win, or get beat... I'M WATCHING! I just wish I could be there in person, but that's tough being from CA. It's a great time to be a sprint car fan. Be well all of you out there!

Just complete domination over the junor series by the WoO.
The F.Q.I. (fan quality index) was quite low which is to be expected with this event. Far too many power drinkers, felons, and trustees of modern chemistry, although they were all fairly well behaved from what I could tell.
The most important ceremony in all of motorsport went off well, with King David the 41st treating it with proper respect. The Crown was properly proportioned this year and adorned beautifully. So TPTB are clearly reading this MB and took my previous comments to heart, which they should.
The scepter was larger this year and very opulent.
The pressure treated lumber of the Throne looks as good as it did in 1984.
Jason Sides did a fine job as the HIgh Priest, but next time lose the sunglasses and when you place the Crown, two hands are to be used, not one. You're not putting a ballcap on a little leager, you are crowning a Champion & King.
Other than the whoops section in turn 1 I'd say it was a pretty flawless week.

Did anyone track how many drivers qualified for all four races. Provisionals don't count.

How about these numbers:
Wins: WoO - 4. High Limit - 1
Podiums: Woo - 9. High Limit - 6
Numbers (facts), not opinion!

When I was taking photos I always looked at TT as an opportunity to get a single car shot of every car. Today it's a good time to run upstairs and grab a snack. I'm not into ragging on qualifying, formats and single file heats every little detail. I don't start paying close attention until the B and A Mains. Fact is that I'm seeing so many races on the two streaming channels that it's making the whole racing thing a bit watered down. My happy place was loading up and leaving from work on a Friday afternoon and chasing them all weekend. Without any travel partners it's more doable to sit and watch from home. Everything from gas to food to motels is pricing me into being more of a TV fan. I'm even finding myself burning out on it and skipping streaming races.
Kind of bummed for my neighbor Luke Nellis this morning. They got the new motor figured out with IRA at Grand Forks last night. Timed fifth, were running away with their Heat until the motor blew and they DNF'd for the night. My racing intersts go much further than the two traveling series. Even includes some fenders now and the so the HL and WoO thing isn't that big of a deal. Just more TV races I don't have time to watch.
