Anyone else going to the High Limit races in Upstate N.Y. this week?
I'm hitting Thursday & Friday events. The only 2 tracks I've been to in N.Y. so far have been Middletown (fergit the name) & Lebanon Valley, Both were pretty much "follow the leader". People blamed it on the fact that they're primarily Modified tracks. I'm assuming Outlaw Speedway & Utica /Rome are Modified tracks too, hoping for the best, always cool to experience new tracks
Plus Larson should be there... anyone know for sure?

If you get some rain before the races they could be decent. Outlaw has been awful for sprints while Utica if it's not glass slick should be okay. High Limit in general has been pretty good with track prep but they have their work cut out for them with upstate NY tracks. We shall see.

The All star race at Outlaw was so dusty you couldn't hardly see the cars while Utica Rome doesn't get dusty but is usually super slick. NY tracks are almost all modified tracks and are usually very slick. One Pa driver I'm interested in seeing if he goes is Mark Smith he's usually pretty good in NY on the dry slicks.

Yes. Mark Smith will be there in Colagiovanni #10. Macri, Dietrich, Nowatarski, Norris and Bollinger are also making the tow. So Revjimk - you will get to see the Posse race for half the drive. Kerry Madson too.
Speaking of upstate NY racing….. RIP “Barefoot” Bob McCreadie who died yesterday at the age of 74. He won a lot of modified races and his son Tim now races late models.

Yea, total dust bowl tonite also. Great field, decent racing, but not great (I was spoiled by killa "Lets Race 2" at Eldora 2 weeks ago)
Hoping for better at Utica/ Rome tomorrow....I hear Fonda cancelled

Speaking of Posse, I've been trying to stop buying T-shirts, but couldn't resist getting a Macri "Back in Daddy's Car" T-shirt! He did pretty well, fast time, but not really in contention for the win. He ran 1st in TTs but times went down consistently as qualifying continued

Yeah Fonda has surface problems track was really rough for their first two shows, teams were loading up and leaving before features. Brett Deyo is in charge at both tracks I believe U R and Fonda. Moved the date UR. A good move UR is usually smooth slick and not dusty kinda like a track I know in Pa but I won't get into that someone might pee the bed.

You guys were not kidding about dry conditions in Upstate! I don't know if I've ever see a track rubbered pole to top during time trials at a night race.... how the heck does that happen?

They pack em tight and hard up there. If the modified guys see a cushion up there it's panic time.

My first trip to Utica/Rome & its now my favorite track in NY.
Actually the only one I like, out of 4 I've been to, which isn't saying much...
But not much dust & you actually had some leg room in the stands. At Outlaw it was damn near impossible not to get kicked in the butt from behind or kick the guy in front of you.
One pass for the lead, which is more than can say for the races I've seen at Orange County & Lebanon Valley
Congratulations Rico! (tho I was rooting for Posse...)

Cool track ! Those heat races were fun to watch. PPM went from 6th to 1st by the time he entered turn 3.

I live 30 miles away from Outlaw. That place is a shit hole. A friend of mine described it perfect, a toilet. The dust was so bad you could not see the cars as the dust was so thick. I will take the 170 mile trip to Port Royal any day.

Last night the best racing was the Outlaws. The track in NY for HL was a slick half mile and I preferred the shorter track in this case. Actually I do that every weekend, see which tracks everyone is racing at and pick the one that looks best. Knoxville wins out on a lot of Saturday nights over all the other options. I'm not watching any track or series to the exclusion of everything else. TV watching is great, getting motivated to travel solo to races has been more difficult. I make plans, calculate that it's going to cost me a few hundred bucks when the same race is on TV.

There are 2 tracks in NY within an hour or 2 of me but they stink. Never again for Outlaw, which is probably a bit further for me than Central Pa. anyway. Utica/Rome was pretty good, but about as far as Pa. tracks
I went on this trip to check out some new tracks, cause I have friends in Ithaca, beautiful scenery, & some friends from Akron, Ohio have a great band thats playing in Rochester tonite (Mo Mojo.... Youtube 'em!)
I got to add 2 new tracks to my list, learned something, gonna have tons o' fun tonite.....success. Will probably keep going to Pa. for racing tho....
