I just saw this on Twitter, rumors of bounced checks from the ASCS side as well, although that's always a rumor regardless of racing organization. What will they do with it if true? It's not in the best interest of WRG to have 360s continue or is it? Is this the regional series WRG will use to replace the All Stars? Will they keep it a 360 series for now and slowly move it to 410? Very interesting development.

Think it makes sense. If ASCS is in financial woes, then I'm guessing it's a cheap source of content to add to DirtVision that should kand decently well with its subscribers and potential subscriber base. Also can leverage the ASCS drivers to add to WoO events throughout the South and maybe even deny High Limit, which has a good portion of its early schedule throughout what I would consider ASCS territory.

Maybe they felt they had to buy it before High Limit did, in order to impede H-L's quest for world domination. Let's be honest, that's not the dumbest thing you've read on Hoseheads this winter. Smile

Maybe WRG bought them to snuff them out.    Imagine the headaches WRG would have saved themselves if they had done that with ASCOC back in 2014 or 2015.

That still may have been the dumbest thing I've seen debated on here in a while. This reminded me to go back and look at the WoO first four night results. Schatz never once finished behind Eliason. Donny was in the top 10 every night. Eliason didn't make the show twice. Schatz average finish (not calculated but just estimated) was nearly 15 spots better. Every night Donny was also in the positive for positions gained or lost.

It's surely a play to add to the lineup of dirtvision. If flo got ahold of it the value of flo to dirtvision would only get more one sided especially at their cheaper price. ASCS might be a bargain in price right now too. I hope someone does pick them up and gets this series back in their feet.

Kind of ironic that Lucas Oil used to be the main sponsor of ASCS and was shown on MAVTV.

That is wild. I wonder if the fall out between them also made them lean towards WRG just for spite.

From what I understand ownership of ASCS has fallen back to the Hahn family. Now if this deal goes through does it affect the Chili Bowl coverage?

ASCS races getting some major streaming exposure would be a good thing. It might make it eaasier for an unknown ASCS racer to move up to 410's.

Exactly. I've seen some claim it'll become a 410 series but I question the overstaturation of 410 events. I'm all for growing 410s more than 305s but a mid tier traveling 360 series is good. It gives other local beginners a chance for some higher level races with good exposure if a streaming deal is reached.

I agree.  Every where with regular scheduled 410 racing is already covered between:

Knoxville/Husets

Ohio (FAST and AFCS)

PA

Western PA/Sharon

Cali (NARC)

IRA

POWRi

and probly some I missed

360s are more plentiful in certain parts of the country and with different Regional Series' with limited traveling and a National ASCSish national series under the same rules umbrella is an under rated way for racers to get to race without the 410 costs/competition.  I know they still are not cheap, but the years we ran 360s we never would have been able to afford the additional costs that would have come with a 410 car.  It's also a natural progression from 305s or non wing, or even fender cars to get into Winged Racing IMO.

ASCS isn't the big fish here.  Think January in OK.

You are probably right in your thinking that that is a bigger deal money wise. I love the chili bowl but honestly the future of the ASCS is way more interesting/concerning for me. Chili Bowl can stand in its own. ASCS is on life support.

I cannot imagine what WRG will call the new series.  High Limit has already claimed the "World Of Inlaws"!

I imagine they should probably call it ASCS, as you know how some folks get salty when an old name goes away. wink
