Where is the increased money coming in 2024 for the WoO platinum members? Are tickets prices going to be increased or is it money from the DirtVision streaming? The same can be said for the High Limits and FLO.I see both the WoO and High Limits increasing winners share for premiere races but what is the payoff from 2nd to 24th? Only one driver can win these $100k races and several teams will be considered the favorites so what would make the others want to travel to these races unless it is cost effective for them. Example-how many east coast teams will travel to the west coast races paying $50k or more? I think as much as this is a showdown between the WoO and High Limits, it is also for DirtVision and FLO. Thoughts and opinions are appreciated.

Some of the local tracks have their weekly payouts online. NASCAR used to release the payout for the entire field each race. Used to. No longer do they share this with the fans.

There is a website that ranks Sprint Car drivers and lists their winnings. There are 250 drivers listed. It is pretty interesting actually. Nothing indicates the source of this information. I wonder how accurate it is?  So I don't know how the "money" column total is determined. It is compiled by Bill Vanselow

http://www.sprintcarratings.com/RatingsDriver.aspx?RaceType=1

It would be interesting to know the details of race team finances. I doubt they will share them. Do you share your finances with anyone other than the IRS?

No east coast teams are traveling to the west coast. Sponsorship dollars are regional, they have zero interest in there product being recognized on the west coast. Weekly payouts in pa and the option of running 2  nights is far greater than towing that far. Brian Brown, a mid west top runner, stays at knoxville because of sponsorships and purse.

Winged sprint car racing has never been more popular, and I have followed this form of racing since I was a child in Fresno CA and I lived in a neighborhood near the airport (noise!) that was full of local hardtop racers, race cars literally built in the garage, the original winged sprint cars, Fred Ede lived right around the corner.  Check out this picture from around 1970 at Kearney Bowl, check out the wings, especially the nose wing, .....the original winged sprint car?

All those little sponsorships add up, the money flowing into this sport is on the increse and its not small.  Enjoy the good times while it lasts, as with many things it still goes in cycles....

I bet you got to see some pretty cool stuff out there back in the day. West coast cars were usually good looking pieces. Not hardly the original winged sprint car though. Wings have been around since the early sixties at least, Gordon Johncock won the first Williams Grove National Open in 1963 with a wing. Is Fred Ede the grandfather of midget racer Mariah Ede?

I doubt that many sponsors pay much attention to where most race cars are racing. Realistically the sponsor names on the cars cannot usually be read on the track by folks in the stands. Most the announcers rattle thru them so fast (if they are mentioned) that no one is aware of them and really who cares who they are other than the team/drivers?  Sponorship is like a charity donation in most cases.

I think tow money, appearance money and purses help influence the appearances of many teams. There also are likely drivers that want to expand their horizons and test their cars and skills against others.

I am pretty sure you are wrong about the sponsors in most cases. Individuals maybe but most businesses expect at least some return on their investment.

Racers in all forms of motorsports say they will be at this race or that race because of spinser commitments. Brent Marks has a sponser from Texas that's why he would run the Woo races thare, Lucas Wolfe's beer sponser is from NY that's why he runs 410 and some 360 races up there. Brian Brown only comes east after the Midwest season is over because he's committed to his sponsers.

I have to agree with the others on here.............the region of the sponsor has a HUGE influence on where they spend the majority of their time racing unless the sponsor just has extremely deep pockets, enjoys racing, and wants a write-off.  Most want a return on their investment.  That's why the majority of national brands will want their sponsorship on a car that travels all over with the WoO, and as someone pointed out, regional guys, like Brian Brown, will spend the majority of his time in the region that is full of Casey's.

It's doubtful Casey's would fund Brian on a west-coast trip.  I'm not saying another one of his sponsors wouldn't, but I doubt Casey's would enjoy him spending their cash 4 states away from their nearest store.

I am pretty sure you are wrong about many sponsors. Check out Brenham Crouch the IRA 410 champ. He is from Lubbock, Texas.

Where are 90% of the IRA cars based out of though?  and where are their sponsors from??   With Crouch Racing, they have non regional sponsors because their main effort was the 11 which ran pick and choose with WoO and HL and All Star races, the 1 car had those same sponsors.  The rest of them were regional in the "IRA" area for the most part.  Just like the Ohio guys and PA guys and Cali guys, most of the sponsors are regional for where they ran/run out of.

Brenham Crouch is out of Texas.  Most IRA cars are from the Midwest. Most of his sponsors are not names I ever heard. I attends some of the races and followed the series. FACTS.

I understand he and the team is out of texas, he is the exception for the IRA guys (90% wisconsin/Illinois/Midwest based with wisconsin/illinois/Midwest sponsors)....  Some of Crouch Motorsporst sponsors (1 and 11 cars) are out of Texas and Indy Race Parts is a national level sponsor with them out of, Indy (the 10% exception).  In fact he just announced they are going national with the 1 car and HL next year.  Still waiting to hear what the 11 car will be doing.

Not sure why you went all Strawman on me there, lol.

I do not know how these corporations keep books, but a friend looked up preofit and loss for the WOO group and they make no profit.  So I do not know how they willpay morer without a ticket price hike.

I think this all about the streaming and not much to do with the attendance at races.  World Racing Group is profitable but no idea what % Dirtvision contributes.  Flo has deep pockets with investors like WWE and discovery and I bet they are willing to spend money to weaken the WoO to try to buy them.  Flo has a history of acquiring other streamers.

WRG may put up more of a fight than they anticipated though.

Dave....I grew up in San Jose and we both know that s not a sprint car. That's almost blasphemy among the super modified fans :-).  I miss those days and the year end open competition super modified/ sprint car shows!

Didn't they have an open comp race at Altomont, and is that the same place as the Rolling Stones Hells Angels fiasco?

Yes & Yes. It was a series of events called the Golden West/State Classic Series. Cars across from the US came to CA for the races....Todd Gibson, Ollie Silva, etc

Thanks. I would have loved to have seen the sprints and supers compete against one another.
