Holy smokes World of Outlaws, after being at DirtCar Nationals Friday and Saturday nights, it won't be long until someone who gets to trade their grandstand ticket for a pit pass gets seriously injured or killed in the pits, Last night was ridiculous! I am not on a team but have been around dirt track racing my entire life and even at 44 years old, my head is on a constant swivel while in the pits to not be in anyones way or get hit by incoming car, 4 wheeler or pit buggy. Straw that broke camels back per say was everyone huddled around Kaseys rig after he came back to his trailer and dropping his car off after his crash in the LCQ,  Shark boys parked right beside the 9 hauler, had almost no room to work to prep their cars for the feature. One of the 1s crew guys, Ben I think, had to go get a tire from Hoosier trailer and couldn't get out of his pit area on the little quads they use to get around and then I'm a very polite way, tell people to move to get back to their pit on his return.  To the official that came thru and told everyone to get away from the trailer and go "across the street, meaning pit lane" well done sir!  Lady totally oblivious to everything darn near gets run over as they backing Donny's car out for the Dash after his engine change. Don't even begin to mention autograph seekers during the night huddled around Larson, Bowman, and Kaseys trailer, waiting for an autograph or selfie. That is for after the races as the teams are their to work and race. Took a DirtCar official to use air horn to get people to look up as cars were returning to their rigs after being started for motor heat. I understand the attraction of seeing your heroes during the night, I get it as my kids like to see the action too but their is protocol that should be followed and is not for sure!!

I've always hated the fan pit pass at volusia. It's a miracle that no one has been run over yet. There is a lot of hypocrisy on behalf of the WRG saying that they are safety first while you access the pits through the beer tent.  90% of the people in the pots last night didn't belong there. I feel sorry for the teams and drivers who are just trying to do their jobs.

If you ain't a driver or ain't wrenchin' on a car, your @$$ needs to be up in the stands.

They basically had the same problem at the Chili Bowl lot more people in the pits then should have been there I put my idea on their who should be there and who shouldn't be there and boy did I get my ass ripped it's basically the promoter trying another way of making money and until the teams put their foot down and say we don't want all these people getting in our way they're going to keep doing it if the promoters want to keep doing it then they should put a special colored wristband on them and lock them in a certain area of the pits or the infield and that's where they have to stay and if they're over getting in the way of the pit Crews working on the cars they should be escorted to the grandstands are off the property

When the Doty Classic used to be at Limaland it was really bad. I saw many a man, woman & child almost get wiped out as they wandered across that push-off chute.

Many years ago I saw a sprint car hit Ricky Hood in the infield at Manzanita, broke both his legs.  I've planted my butt in the stands ever since...

I was there that night, a sight I will never forget.  Probably about 1985.

Made me sick to see that....

I was in the turn 4 stands and thats where it happened.  Turns 3 and 4 at Manzy were fun to watch because the junkyard was just over the wall, and many a driver who went thru or over the wall scrambled for his life to outrun the junkyard dogs, racing was exciting back then, sorry for the humor but its true LOL
