What a turnaround since last year. As we sit tonight I think he's one of the best in the country. Definitely top 5. I also think his season has been overlooked a little bit with Larson, covid, etc. I believe we would've been crowning King Rico the 37th in July . Even with the 57 there. Also just thinking about the Eckert family tonight. Send good vibes please.

I was thinking about that same thought. If not for Larson's ridiculous season, Rico would probably be the talk of the sprint car world this year. Complete 180 from the last couple years. Stat nugget: In his last 20 starts, he's got 18 top tens and 5 wins. Two with the all stars, one at knoxville at two with mowa.

New crew chief? Or did they find something chassis setup wise? He's always been a good driver.

I must be missing something. He's won 2 all star races, 2 Mowa races, and a couple others and if it weren't for Larson he'd be the talk of the sprint car world? A decent year and much better than last year but hardly extraordinary.

When he isn't winning he's getting podiums. About a year removed from a scary wreck and dismal results. Been a complete 180 turnaround. Everything else aside, you can SEE that he's one of the fastest cars out there.

Throw Cap Henry in this conversation too. Incredible year so far. He has to have 10-15 wins so far. Who's got the stats?

Remember when Rico broke on the scene silva was the guy turning the wrenches, he had a couple off years but has seem to come back strong this year. That accident most definitely set him back but I believe it's the new crew chief that has got him on the right track. Glad to see this, he's a great guy, always has time for the fans. Very approachable in the pits.

Don't forget, he got a Pa Speedweek win at Lincoln too. Not to mention, several strong finishes throughout the week. This year was probably the toughest our Speedweek has ever been competition wise and he was in the mix every night.

Yes, Paul Silva was his wrench for a good while.

Larson, Sweet, Schatz, Gravel, Schuchart are the top 5. Then you got Macedo, Sheldon, Pittman, Reutzal all ahead then Rico is battling for that last top 10 spot with Dietrich, Dewease, PPM, Kerry Madsen, McFadden and im sure a few others in this conversation

That's where I disagree and why I made this thread. Imo Rico is faster than Macedo, Pittman, Reutzel. And I think he's right there with Gravel, Sweet, Logan. Schatz has NOT been as fast as those 5. So just for shits and gigs here's my "officially official" top 5 Sprint Car rankings as of Sept 2020..
57, 49, 41 and I'd say it's a draw between Logan and Rico for the 4th and 5th spot. Reutzel and Schatz are slightly down this year so that's why I left them out.

I'd love to see Rico make a go of the full WoO tour next year. I think he'd be sitting in the top 5 come the end of the year. Either way, I see him as a top 10 in the country based on 2020 performance.
