OK, Dirtlover's rant was incredibly stupid, but lets get back on topic....Any videos of the race available?

It's crazy that Lucas Oil LM are one of the most popular series on dirt and yet their online presence seems way behind the other series.

Steve didn't win 3 of the 4 races at the 4 Crown Nationals his first time ever turning laps at Eldora either. It's dumb to make those kind of comparisons when you're talking about entirely different eras of racing.

Really? I looked there & couldn't find it...

But i read the account... looks like he started first row? How do you earn a pole position in this sanction?

There is no invert and feature lineup is based on heat finish.  He was quick time in qual group B so he started on the pole of heat 4 and won that.  Feature lined up by heat finish with cars from heats 1-3 on the inside and heats 4-6 on the outside.  So he started on the outside of the front row of the feature.

Mccreadie, the team car to Larson, ran away from the  field Thurs night. Sat Larson started second and had a similar performance. Point being this team had it together and put a car in victory lane each night. Larson won and you can't take that away from him but before I jump on the bandwagon I need to see more that points to him as a driver and not just a superior car. Thurs night he started 6th and finished 5th. Yes he was further up in the order, 3rd, but fenced it in 4 on the last lap and lost spots. I think had that not happened he would've been 4th leaving him with a +1 for the night. I thought Owens was getting him for 3rd even before he hit the wall with him hitting the wall costing him one spot. Last night during the final green flag run he passed two lapped cars and he had to work for it. Those two cars were the extent of his passing for the night. In the heat and feature he started at the front and led the whole time. Those 50 lap races you always see guys make big moves back to front and last night it was Ferguson 16th to 4th. Owens went 26th to 7th but didn't get hard charger because his original starting spot was 12th. Both of these guys used the whole track to get forward while Larson only ran the top. Granted he never had to move around because he kept getting cautions at the right time and had a clear track until the last green flag run where to 2 lapped cars eventually came into play. Point of all this is I want to see him drive from the back to the front and have to navigate and pass cars going both top and bottom. I'm not necessarily saying he can't I'm just saying I haven't seen him in enough of these situations to really get a good handle on him in a late model.

Thursday night was his first night in a DLM.  Recognize his effort for what it was.  If you've followed Kyle's career as I have for 18 years, you will see a pattern of a quality time trialer, who studies the rules of the sanction that hes racing under and knows what he has to do to optimize his starting position.  I truly believe his world spins in slow motion.

I agree, super-impressive for Larson to win against that caliber of competition in his 2nd race!

At this point,  if he got a ride for the Kentucky Derby I think he might win.

I agree, and he'll be the first to do it by running his horse right on the outside wall!

Jumping into an unfamiliar car and holding off that field for 50 laps points to him being a driver.   I'm not really sure what he has to do to get everyone to "jump on the bandwagon."  Pick ANY sprint car racer in the country that has never sat in a late model.  Then try to tell me they would have gone 5th and 1st in their first starts against that field.  The superior car thing?  That is kind of getting old.   Just like at any Outlaw race the field was full of cars with equal equipment.  How come after every win, in every series, the first thing people point to is the guy who setup the car for him?  Does anyone see the constant in this equation yet?   You can plug any of these setup guys into the equation and the results are the same.   I've seen Larson use the whole track to navigate and pass cars.  We saw him pass cars----and some good ones---on Thursday night before his last lap mistake.  No need for him to make any passes when wiring the field on Saturday.

Sorry, just disagree with you is all.

Well, if he happens to win the whole thing then it really won't count because it's all the car. He needs to run a shit box.

It's fake. Larson already said (after winning on Saturday) he's running the Tuscarora 50 that weekend

Yea, this trying to put the situation in "perspective" but pointing out the equipment was good is insane.

Try this, put Sheppard or Owens in Larson or Sweet's sprint car and see if they can set fast time or keep the entire field behind them for the whole A main. They'd be lapped by half way.

Thank God!   The only thing I hate more than late models is IMCA modifieds...
