I don't really care about lap times

The racing at Port was great! LOTS of passing & duels thru the field...

Hey, there's the two, I mean one, Port hater. As with every weekend, I was there, both nights. I was stunned, I couldn't believe it. There was dust, from a DIRT track, what the friggin hell???? Since when did dirt throw up dust?  Good thing those cry babies don't live in Ohio, the dust bowl of racing.  Their poor fingers would be numb with all the hateful typing.  But seriously, Sunday the track held moisture much longer than I ever expected.  There sure was some exciting racing with tons of passing all through the field, both nights. I think Port did just fine with the heat as bad as it was.  Thank God for our top row reserved seats where we can get a breeze from behind. It sure felt good.

Back to the whiners.  See, one was there only one night, the other not at all. But damn, they know everything.  Funny how more drivers, including Larson, are chiming in on how much they love Port.  But these two yahoos know better, lol. Please Strawser and WingedStrawser, stay away by all means.  Enjoy the "racing" at Williams Grove and that other place. Port doesn't need either of you. In case you haven't noticed, the place is packed week in and week out. Huh, wonder why?

Tenter, you said it before me. They haven't been on Goodyear's for a long long time. Just 2 guys, or is it ? that like to sit and complain. I watched both nights and I saw a lot of dam good racing for position. You 2 need to go to tracks that halfway through the program they bring out the water truck and dump a ton of water on the surface. Screven just did it and so have a couple tracks around Illinois the tracks still got slick. Water on top of the  surface does nothing.

PA tracks looked good but there sure are some dusty tracks in Ohio.  There were a couple of the Speedweek races I was watching on Floracing where you could barely see the cars on the backstretch.  If anyone watched the Cedar Lake WoO show that is the closest track by way of comparison where dust wasn't a problem during the broadcasts.

The thing I notice most about PA tracks is they sure do love their flat paper clips with tight turns.  I can't think of any tracks shaped like that in my area.  Racing is much better than I would expect by just looking at the track configurations so it's not bad, just different than a lot of the rest of the country.

The Grove is the only flat paper clip with tight turns. The racing there is OK on a good night but very seldom is it spectacular IMO. Lincoln and Port are banked pretty good in the turns.

I was gonna bring it up, but figured I'd play nice and not be a complete wiseass.

There was another one that had longer straights and tighter turns than I'm used to seeing.  Can't think of the name but it stood out to me. I recognize Williams Grove when I see it but missed my chance to go there back in the early 70's.

To Stan M,

Would that track have been called Metrolina?

The track appeared to have a VERY narrow infield, long straights, tight, but really wide, semi or high banked corners.

I'm assuming that it was in one of the Carolina's.

I remember watching ESPN and seeing highlights of a WoO show that took place there in the early to mid 80's. Bobby Allen was the winner (If I remember correctly).

Not a Port hater.  I hate the way razor Steve doesn't prepare the track each week.  He needs FIRED!!! If I sucked at my job as bad as he does I would have been fired long ago.

I will never be back to that asphalt track until they learn how to prepare it.  I don't care about dust.  I care if it is hard black and dry before qualifying is over.  That means the feature is going to be horrible......but Port I came to expect nothing else from the clueless at the Juniata county oval.

Lincoln had the perfect track tonight.  Port could only wish they had a surface like the one they had tonight.  I guess Lincoln had a shower sometime in the afternoon.  Even with that the track was at its best for the feature.  That is when you want to have your raciest track.

I know the heats pay so much so some would rather have there best track in the heats.  Then the feature suffers from the surface not being good enough for quality racing,....see Port Royal.....Razor Steve does horrible job with the slow palace.....it is a slip and slide all night long every time they race.

Can't handle the truth I see.  The track crew at port is very very clueless.   They wouldn't know how to prepare a track if it jumped up an bit them in the butt.

It's a shame you don't have the balls to walk up to Steve and tell him that, huh.  You talk a big game, on the internet, but actually hide behind your keyboard.  It's not hard to find Steve on most days and especially raceday.  Let's go big mouth, tell the man how to do it.  Oh right, you are just a blowhard.  I love the twitter threads with Steve, many drivers & some crew guys saying that you are the clueless one.  But what do they know, it's only what they do, lol.  It must have really been a gut punch when Larson said Port has become one of his favorite tracks in the country. Ouch, huh. Of course, he's just one of a whole bunch of drivers who love Port.  Did you enjoy your pole sitter winning last night?  Maybe if you went to Port you'd see all the passing in the feature. But you stay home with your alter ego WingedStrawser and watch on the internet so you only see whovever the camera is following.
