Question: does the declaration of a National Emergency only apply to 49 states? WoO, all pro and college sports cancel/postpone (and some of those are outdoor venues...MLB, MLS, XFL). Schools/universitys close. You may not not be afraid of getting it, but you certainly unknowingly, and probably will, pass it on to someone a lot more vulnerable.

I'm pretty stoked, I'm leaving for Lincoln in about a half hour to watch some racing and enjoy the company of my friends. Ready for the Grove opener tomorrow also. Sprint car racing is alive and "the norm" in south central PA. If you are not familiar with the term " the norm" Egras can enlighten you. Everybody has to die sometime.

I have a better chance of winner the 70/30 today than contracting the virus. I'll gladly take my chances and NOT live in fear!

I don't think I'm going to contract it and also don't live in fear, but I'm still staying home. Do I think that makes me better than you? No. I just feel that until we get a hold on things its better to do my part and lie low.
By the way, life is not always all or nothing. There's nuance. Embrace it.

They raced in Calif last night and I believe are planning to do so tonight. I understand the concerns but some people have totally lost their minds. Grocery stores in the Mechanicsburg Pa area have NO toilet paper! Unsure when the shelves will be restocked.

105 Speedway near Houston is running tonight, although not a sprint car show. My brother is towing his dwarf car down there to run it. Devils Bowl rained out this weekend, but had they raced I would have been there. If they run their Spring Nationals next weekend I will be there on both nights.

You guys actually know each other Egras? I wish I had opportunity to actually meet a few of the people on this forum and a couple of others.

Yeah I thought the Grove held the rights to the 70/30 but I guess Lincoln has adopted that policy too. Maybe its to help the Jerry foundation.lol. Good race today . Glad to be out enjoying life

I do not know Johnny personally. However, I rarely, if ever, disrespect a post from Johnny. He and I see eye to eye on many issues. Let's just say, I feel like I know a lot of you on this site, yourself included, personally---since we have been conversing for years!
I have actually made personal friends with a couple of Hoseheads members----and we actually met on Hoseheads. Maddog53, Larryitis, and Stealth(82?) We have all attended races together and meet on a regular basis.

Rather take my chances at the track, standing in the infield with a cold beer. than going into any restaurants with some sick guy messing with my food. Far as i know they haven't closed restaurants. Go to races or sit hope with stockpile of tp.

I can't argue with that. Like I said before, if you can feel safe where you're at, and they're still holding the races, go for it.

The Ohio governor just ordered all bars and restaurants closed.

Some people will disagree with this but this is only my opinion. I wish ALL of professional sports would continue with business as usual. Or I should say mostly usual. I wish the profesional ranks would continue to do their games or races or whatever without fans. Obviously the athletes and essential personel need to be safe but it would be nice if the people needed could be tested. I only say this because this country needs a distraction, which is what sports do. Everything is shutting down and the only thing on TV or news is about that damn virus.

We were just talking about that last night. I think once they can slow this spread, and evaluate all of their athletes, I think you will see a couple of sporting leagues do just this. Nascar would be an ideal starting spot. They will have to work out a revenue deal with the track to share TV revenue as they will pull no gate/concession $$$.
Baseball would be another sport where the athletes have good "distancing" and could play with minimal contact.
