World of Outlaws cancelled till at least Aprip 9.Teams are heading home. We may get lucky and get to have them race in this area for a while. However Gov. Wolf is recommending that large gatherings be curtailed. It's not a law yet but I think it's just a matter of time.

Where is your part of the country?

I read on a seperate forum about the PGA shutting down an event in prgress. The players are already there and they spend time with 1 other human if they humble themselves and cary thier own clubs. No fans required so what is the logic .

Sucks all around.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Very well educated statement.  (insert sarcasm)

We are going to be fine in the long term.  The right moves are being made right now.  Let's just leave politics out of this.  I firmly believe we will be watching racing with little to no restrictions by summer.  Right now, that is not going to be the case and this is the correct decision.  Why don't we let this play out before pointing fingers.  If your only concern is whether or not ther is going to be racing in PA, you have completely missed the point.

Also, if your only source of news is Fox News, which I am tuning into right now, they are trying to tell you to take this seriously now.  (fior the record, I form no allegiance to any news source--I have been tuning in to all of them to formulate my opinion.  You know----not being a robotic moron)

This is especially hilarious given the truth is the exact opposite.

Here's a little light reading: https://fortune.com/2020/02/26/coronavirus-covid-19-cdc-budget-cuts-us-trump/

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-fire-pandemic-team/

I have a feeling that this likely won't matter or sway your opinion one way or another, but for the love of God try using some logical thinking for once.

I feel bad for dipshits that think coronavirus is some politically driven conspiracy theory. Must be hard getting through life being that stupid. The entire country of Italy is on lockdown. You think the US media caused that too?

Thanks for proving my point in a previous thread about people making every issue politically driven when it has nothing to do with politics. It has to do with science, health, and medical professionals. Not politics, and you're part of the problem.

"I think people are dismissing it unfortunately because a lot of people have become so politically driven that they make decisions based on their said political bias. If the politican(s) they like say either it is a hoax or if it is going to be the second coming of the black plague they go with what they say. It is turned into a political issue like a lot of things when it is not a political issue, its a health, human and scientific issue. Virus', biology, and science do not give a shit who you're voting for or what party you're for. Also, it seems because of the political thing that the common thing to do whenever there is an actual issue going on in the world is to say the "media" is blowing it out of proportion. One of the best things I have done the past 2years was to cut cable and just stream services so I do not watch news outlets such as CNN, Fox News, or MSNBC. With everything that has happened the past 2 years I can tell you its not media that blows things out of proportion or loses their mind, it is people. Reading social media posts all I see is this political party says this, the other political party says that, politican A says its blown out of proportion, politican B says we will die, guy A on facebook says its a conspiracy to get xyz, guy B on twitter says we need to lock ourselves in the basement for a month, everyone else follows.

Meanwhile you have the CDC, World Health Organization, and other scientists whose job it is to look out for the general welfare for the public and do not have any type of agenda. If they tell you to wash your hands, cover your mouth, stay home if sick, take certain precautions to help your body, etc do it. They are essentially paid by us to and do not get any benefit by creating mass panic because there is always going to be some sort of health issue in the country or world. It does them no good to shift resources to 1 thing unless it absolutely need to but you have plenty of people who try to sound smart that believe its a conspiracy, or say "well if its going to happen its going to happen." That's like saying well if I'm going to get hit by a bus its going to happen so why should I bother looking both ways before I cross the street."

can you imagine, all of the media, the hundreds of thousands if not millions of us citizens who work in "the media", all coordinated around this specific idea to spark fear/anger towards the president, border to border, coast to coast. what an undertaking that must have been to coordinate all this media hype!

williams grove needs to do the right thing, and cancel this weekend, and any other PA track planning to race to help stop the spread of this media hoax.

The reality is that there is a political aspect into this in how our current administration has completely dropped the ball on this thing. I posted links earlier that in this thread showing Trump, et. al. have slashed the groups and officials that were specifically instituted for this exact scenario, and now it's a complete shit show. The numbers are likely very underrepresented at this point given the shortage in tests, because why wouldn't we develop our own when a perfectly good one had already been created by the WHO?

Also, there are reports out that weeks ago Trump reportedly rejected the suggestion of more aggressive testing because of fear it would have negative effect on his re-election bid.

It's complete idiocy and it's going to unfortunately cost people's lives. The greatest country in the world? Hard to agree when you see shit like this happen.

What the hey did the democrats have to do with corona virus ?  You can thank the Chinese  who will eat anything that crawls..The virus probably came from a animal or creature.  Chinese eat BATS scorpions and anything else that quivers.  The virus is real and I wish we were racing, but democrats never  had anything to increase fears.

linbob you are absolutely correct about eating anything. I googled wet market to see what these are and dang, what a freaking health hazard. Processed meats beside cages with live animals and who knows what else. Its no wonder all these new viruses start in asian countries.

I agree with what we are doing now with cancelling sports events and large gatherings. If we let this just keep going unchecked I don't think our economy would handle it. It has already been ugly enough with the stock markets tanking and everybodies 401k's have taken a beating. That pisses me off more than anything.

Man, you seem to really be lacking intelligence. I'd like to say further but will hold off. Pretty brazen of the Democrats to reign hell on Italy for an election, right?

The first reported case of the coronavirus in the US was late January 2020, approximatley two months ago.  We do not have the anecdotal nor emperical evidence to properly determine the mortality rate of the virus.  The only statement that possibly be more inane than citing deaths from the flu would be placing the onus for the disease upon the media and Democrats.

I just got an e-mail from Hillary's private server saying the Democrats are to blame for rubber down racetracks as well. The steps they will take are enormous.

Ignorance, stupidity and arogance abound anymore. I applaud WOO for being and setting an example. Harrisburg I understand shut down many buildings schools etc. Even BAPS cancelled. Maybe no virus in the area of the PA tracks but many people going there are from states that have the virus. I doubt two weeks of avoiding large crowds is alot to ask if your children, parents, and friends stay well. Stay safe everyone.

The state I live in, Ohio, seems to be one of the more aggressive in trying to keep ahead of this by closing schools and banning large public gatherings BEFORE the number of infected here started to rise in the past couple of days.  The man leading the charge, our governor Mike DeWine, is a Republican.  Tell us again how the Democrats are blowing this out of proportion?
