The crowd size looked pretty good. It wasn't a jam-packed house....but there were plenty of people there sitting top to bottom, like I have seen it many times before.

37 cars were on hand. The parking lot was soggy creating some challenging parking conditions. The track was tacky and mostly smooth. A few racers were seen doing wheelies half-way thru the feature. The surface didn't get dry dusty, but a very slight breeze carried dirt back into the stands in large amounts.

With the tacky track there wasn't as much passing as usual but given all the circumstances, Wayne County did a great job to pull this off with such short notice.

Thank you Jason and Kristen!

I noticed that too.  From rough, wet and choppy to one of those nights where we'd take two shots when the green fell then go wait near victory lane for the dust to settle.  I always think of the photographers in those situations.  wink

PS, I think that their success drawing a crowd was the litmus test of where people get their information nowadays.  A lot of promoters were slow to accept the power of the internet in promoting their tracks but today I think the opposite is true.  Anyone who thinks it doesn't matter will be left in the dust which is a fitting analogy towards the end of last night's broadcast.

I've been wondering the same thing. Track mustve been prepped and sealed over on Monday. Track probably stay sealed over the next two days to endure all the rain... which would explain all the water in the infield. But before hotlaps it looked like it was going to be the wettest and heaviest track Ohio has seen in 5 years. I was so excited. Next thing you know its blowing dust in the 2nd hot lap session.

Aside from eating dust all night it was a decent surface. Reutzel is just too damn good, made for an uneventful feature.
