First off...congrats Logan Wagner on the track championship.  Winning a track championship is hard to do and takes a lot of effort. However, Port's announcer needs to shut his mouth sometimes. He's a disgrace. I've heard him say several dumb things this season and puts other teams down because they go to other tracks occasionally.  Get a clue sir. You're a moron. Earlier in the year he made a comments regarding teams that went elsewhere when port only had 12 cars. Now tonight he calls this point championship "poetic justice"? Are you kidding me? Heffner and Hodnett supported Port all season and missed one race to go compete at the 360 nationals and misfortune tonight handed the point title, that was virtually wrapped up (as Hodnett got collected in a crash in the dash), to Logan Wagner. Not knocking Logan Wagner and the Zemco team. Don't mean that at all. I know it's a long season and a lot of things can happen anytime. I don't want to lower myself to the port royal announcer's level. That Port announcer calling what happened to Hodnett tonight poetic justice when the Heffner team supported your track all season is a new low.  

Of all the improvements Port has made, the best one they could possibly make would be getting a new announcer. I remember the underhanded comments he made a few weeks ago and I was disgusted then but tonight was a new low. The crash involving Hodnett, Reutzel and Montieth was vicious to say the least and its very fortunate that none of them were injured. Not to mention, all that equipment that got junked costs a lot of money and it costed Hodnett and the Heffner team a championship. Anyone who thinks that's poetic justice belongs nowhere near a racetrack and they sure as hell have no business working there as an announcer or in any other capacity. Ted Reitz is there every week and he was a better announcer than Brouse will ever be. They should offer him the job. True poetic justice would be Hodnett taking home the $51,000 tomorrow (which is far more than their track championship pays) and calling Brouse out for his comments in front of a packed house. I'd pay damn good money to see that. Hopefully Greg and Mike heard what was said or if they didn't, hopefully someone told them about it. Totally classless and uncalled for.

Did not hear him say it but if he did should be fired. Drivers could have been seriously injured. Greg has supported this track for years. I never agreed with theses dashes most dont chane much if anything. Drivers take a huge risk running them. It is a true shame for Greg. Not the way to lose a championship for a team that supports alot of tracks in the area. Lost respect for the announcer and hope management looks elsewhere for a better one

That has been my biggest issue with Port, the constant trolling for comments from drivers on the great track. the lights, the this and that, it gets old. Unless you crawled out from under a rock after 25 years you know how much improved Port Royal has become, so much that I havent attended a race at Lincoln all year. It is by far the best faciltiy around, sorry Scott and Baps but its true. This idiot announcer should be treated like Roseanne and be sent away, far far away. If I was Heffner and Hodnett I would tune his ass up inside a hauler and then shove the mike somewhere, Do the right thing Port get rid of this idiot.

Pathetic if true. He’s always been mildly annoying and certainly a Port Royal homer, but “poetic justice” comment is going way too far. 

How many points did Greg lose by ,Did he gets any points for 27th?

During the Late Model feature they said if the two drivers ended up in a tie the one with the most appearences would be the champion,not a good way to decide a title.

If they want it to be a precipation award just give more show up points.

Agreed. That guy is a pain in the ass. Hands down the most annoying announcer I've ever heard. Like I said, Ted Reitz sits down in turn 1 every week. Offer him the gig. He's a great announcer and he's got more class in his thumbnail than Brouse ever had not to mention he's a far better announcer. 

The funny thing is Mr. Port homer Brouse isn't really a Port homer at all. Prior to landing his gig at Port, he was the 358 announcer at Williams Grove and the PR/media guy for Selinsgrove for many years. Now he acts like Port is the only race track on the planet and that he's never missed a race there since he was born.

Totally agree. The self admiration is pathetic. Of course, the self admiration and arrogance is what led to the bullshit comments a few weeks ago when they only had 13 cars and then last night when Brouse locked up the asshole of the year award.

I posted about the announcer on Port Royals page and it only took 30 seconds for them to delete it. Flood their page about it and let them know how you feel! 

He's the biggest issue I have with Port. And the banter between him, Earl and the ASCoC announcer, my God just kill me. I'd rather be forced to sit through a live episode of the view than listen to those three yuck it up.

That's what they do. When someone posts something stroking them off over the new lights or how perfect the track was they like and retweet for days. But if someone disagrees or says something critical, they don't have the balls to engage them. If he still has a job after last night, that tells me everything I need to know about the fine folks at Port Royal. Just imagine what the reaction would be if Bruce Ellis had said something like that. People would burn that place to the ground.

I checked out port's website on their points rules. Apparently Hodnett needed to take the green in the feature to get the appearance points that would've locked up the championship. He qualified for the main, involved in a crash in the dash, had to pull out the backup car which an mechanical issue came up while they were lining up for the feature. Couldn't get it fixed for the drop of the green. So Hodnett earned zero points for the night. Fair or not, that's the rules, but brouse's comments are uncalled for. Not just last night, he's been classless before and if you're the track announcer and public relations guy for the track you should keep your biased comments to yourself.

You get 350 pts for a win, 335 for second, and 325 for third. Fourth gets 320 and from there every position decreases by 5. If you dont make the A, you get 100 pts.

Hodnett qualifies, but the car doesnt fire. Instead of maybe getting 230ish points for finishing around 20th, he receives 100 points. Same as any driver who didnt qualify for the A.

“Check out that new flag stand! We have gotten so many compliments on it since we put it up! Wow what a great flag stand!” Imagine if Bruce stroked on about the WoO plaque... we would be saying the same things about it if it was week in and week out. They have made so many positive changes to Port but every single stinking one gets a 5 minute feature like they put white on rice. Actions speak louder than words; I wish Shorts would just let the actions speak for themselves ... and say less words.... a lot less words..... PLEASE
