Can't help but be impressed - kid drove the absolute piss out of it tonight.

Seemed he got a generous ruling on his heat restart, given Gravel got punished for the exact same move the start of the next heat.

Who builds the motors for the 17 car? They seem unreal on starts/restarts and generally seem to have more straightline speed than every other car. I know setup factors in there, but they just seem to have a huge advantage.

BTW, Bakersfield seems like an awesome track. Just utter chaos at times, especially on the restarts - looked like a traffic jam.

Can't help but like his attitude, too.  When asked about having to give up a four second lead and have a double file restart with six laps to go, he said he hated to give up the lead but that "restarts like that will help to make me a better racer". That's a great attitude!

I knew one day he would be like this. Glad to see it come so soon. Go Sheldon!

I'm sure dirtlover will be back the next time Sheldon crashes, as if none of the other drivers do that too...

If dirtlover went away I'm sure I'd miss him, just like I miss having the shingles.

The kid is up on the wheel and he's getting it done. Season is early, I hope he can continue his performance.

And, it's not like he's lucking out with the pill draw and front row starting spots.  He's driving through cars and this time from deep in the field.  Kyle proved this car can be a winner with an aggressive driver behind the wheel and they got their man!!!   That was about as aggressive as I've ever seen anyone drive anything.

On an ironic note, at the halfway point of the race, the two fastest cars were Sheldon in the 17 and Joey in the 26.  Thought there could be a battle brewing between the 17 and the former driver of the 17.  Joey is still talented----that 17 car just obviously wasn't for him.

This is great to see!! Back when Steve Kinser announced his retirement, i said then, if Tony was going to continue with a two car team? This would have been a top choice for me!!

I believe they have both Speedway and Kistler engines.
