Zearfoss had a real good run and not a lot of travel experience to fall back on. He's going to continue to be one to watch. McCarl and Brown didn't do all that well. The Madsen brothers have the equipment and started up front, so no surprize there. And that's why we'll probably be watching both Madsens on the WoO tour next year. Midwest car counts could be down even more next year. That's a real bummer!!!

Also.....for those not watching the event, Zearfoss sufferred quite a bit of damage to the left front of his top wing fairly early on in the A Main....I'd intellegently guess that held him back some, wouldn't everyone agree to that?!

Brock has had a decent year and is rolling into the world finals with a lot of confidence. I've been watching him since his 358 days and he has made the transition to the 410s quite well. Good luck to him, he is a good racer.
To the OP, PA is one state, how many states do you consider the midwest to be.lol.

I bet 90% of those cars have the equipment to run with the outlaw cars also surprised you Didn’t mention Balog considering hes the crew chief on his own car and he still ran up front good run with him I couldn’t imagine what he could do if he had a decent crew chief setting up the car for him.

Over three million of Minnesota's population is centered around the Twin Cities metro area. It's not exactly a hotbed of Sprint Car racing up here so our main contribution to this stat is to inflate the population comparison.

Yep the midwest Aussie's continue to do well wherever they go. The Madsen's have both had great years, breakout year for Ian. There's what 2 central PA drivers down there? I guess 3 if you count Starks(part-time PA).

That sure as hell doesn't fit the criteria! #1 he was there racing, not sitting at home #2 he was running up towards the front #3 he sufferred top wing damage and went backwards. As I stated, he was having a good night until then. If you'd like, I can give you a complete description of coulda, woulda shoulda........

From a versus outlaws standpoint I'd say that the midwest had a better season because of Brian Browns and the Madsen's successes thsi season. Not that the posse did poorly, they just didn't do as good as the midwest drivers did. I would put the Cali drivers dead even with PA this year considering only perfomance versus outlaws, primarily because of the fall swing success of Hirst and others.

Why would anyone be surprised the 69 team wasn't in Charlotte ? They had a really good year in PA and everyone involved is happy. Those guys are racing local because of the love of sprint car racing. They don't need to impress anyone at this Era of there careers.

Not surprized at all, I understand that some competitors are happy to simply remain a big fish in a small pond.

100% agree. Guy comes from Wisconsin with minimal experience at Charlotte, qualifies up front, runs 6th on Friday and 5th on Saturday. You know he has less money/resources then the rest and still doesn't seem to really get the respect he should.

Stenhouse Should put Balog in the 17. There's not a guy out there that has done more with less.

No no no he does not need to be in the WOO. He just got parked at LaSalle MOWA show for junking Triplett and someone else, and I do mean junk. 2 people lost cars. He is an outstanding local talent, was average regional talent (NSL) and a realistic 15-18 finisher consistanltly with WOO if he makes the show. yes he had a good weekend, yes he won his home track at Beaver Dam against 12 outlwas and a weak ira field, but i believe he would be the first to tell you he is not WOO full time mmaterial. Not a hater, just being realistic, was happy to see him have the weekend he did at charlotte.

The situation with tripplett was a driving mistake not intentional from the video tripplett chopped ball off going into four then balog turned it underneath him to throw a slider but with how slick it was he spun his tires coming up the track. the other situation I really don’t know what was going through his head but if balog has a full time crew chief he could definitely hang with the outlaws
