I know in years past on Friday there has been a drivers forum / Q&A session at the Celebrate Church, just across Hwy 14 from the track. Hosted by MRN's Steve Post. any word on this happening this year? If so, day and time?

Well we tried. Last year we had it lined up to do one with Sammy. After talking to the Swindells that week we decided to cancel because we didn't want to take people away from the auction to benefit the Clauson's. This year I thought we were going to get to do it with Jac Haudenschild. Jac was uncertain on what his ride situation was so we just couldn't get it put together. We felt we needed a deadline so we could advertise it and do it well. Unfortunately it just didn't work out. We are open to suggestions on what drivers you would like to hear from. We hope to do more of this in the future. Thanks for asking.

We are trying a new venture this year however. We are teaming up with a group called Kingdom Racing for a program called Miles of Smiles. Together we will be getting 5-8 kids from Knoxville who are down on their luck or come from a broken home and we are going to spoil them for a day. On Thursday of Nationals they will get to meet some drivers and hear their testimonies. They will get a tour of the HoF, tour of the pits before the races, supper and tickets to the races that night. Super excited to bless these kids with an oppritunity they would never get otherwise. Hope is a powerful thing!!

it got me to thinking..... how many people coming to the nationals would pony up a few bucks to buy some deserving kid a ticket and a hot dog to a prelim nite? I would.

As a member of the Knoxville community it's things like these (that are often unseen by the public at large) that will make a huge difference in these kids lives and will make them better citizens in the community for years to come. A little Hope can go a long ways!
Great job by all involved!

thanks for the answer, really enjoyed the panel Q&A the year before, would be neat to see something like this come together again. Love to hear the deal with the kids, keep that up!! Very good idea and could minister to those young people for years to come!

Check the latest Sprint Car & Midget magazine for all the activities during the week, complete list.
I was wrong about seeing in on Knoxville website, but knew it was available somewhere.....

Please contact Judd Nelson for any information. You are more than welcome to stop by Celebrate while you are in town for the Nationals (directly across from turns 1 and 2), or call 641-828-7603. Judd's email is [email protected]
Hopefully next year we will get another driver tribute put together and we would love to hear from everyone on who they would like to hear from.

I assume it was a couple of the people on this thread that sent us very generous donations to go towards blessing the kids during the Miles of Smiles event. From all of us at Celebrate Church and Kingdom Racing, thank you! We promise to be good stewards with the money and bless the kids with it. Thank you for partnering with us by using racing as a platform to share the love of Jesus. Blessings!
