All but those with big budgets and perfect circumstances would be able to run a schedule like that. You stop and think about it on any given weekend there are Friday IRA races that are going to be much closer than Grand Forks. We don't see many Knoxville, Grand Forks or Husets cars running those shows either.
You could ask similar questions about cars in all the divisions at every track. At my home track Cedar Lake they get in the neighborhood of 30 Late Models weekly give or take a few. Maybe a half dozen teams travel around for a lot of the big special events and run a few nights each week. Quite a few will hit an occasional special at another track then there's quite a few who only run Cedar. They know what their budget is and even though there's races with good paying purses closer than this Sprint Car scenario it still all boils down to what they're able to do.
It would be kind of like if somebody posted on a message board that because I take racing photos I should be able to afford to buy a motor home and chase racing. You know, it's easy for someone to post ideas of how somebody else should spend their money because they don't know their personal circumstances. That kind of illustrates the kind of assumptions some of the fans post about the racers. I don't think you're going to see many more drivers out of Grand Forks run the kind of schedule Dobmeier did this season no matter how much point money anybody puts up. These people all have to stay within their budgets and most aren't able to take that much time off. Probably nobody has put up a points fund to lure teams between Knoxville and Grand Forks because it wouldn't make much difference.
