The Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprint Car Series kicked of their 2016 at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska.  Twenty-nine sprint cars checked into the evenings show.

Heat 1 saw Missouri’s Brian Brown jump to a huge lead, on lap one, that extended to 5 car lengths in turn 2.  On lap 2 Dusty Zomer and Danny Lasoski battled hard for the third place position.  Ryan Roberts almost ended his night with a slam into the 2nd turn wall on lap 3.  Racing continued to go green until Joey Danley spun in turn 2.  On the restart Brian Brown overpowered Dusty Zomer and Don Droud Jr to take the win.

Misfortune came to Wayne Johnson, before the green was waived, as he was forced to the pits, before the green flag flew, in heat race number two.  The culprit was a broken power steering valve that engulfed smoke from his car.  The man from down south, Australia’s Ian Madsen, rocketed to an early lead that left John Klabunde and Justin Henderson vying for the 2nd position.  That battle continued but another battle was was taking place mid pack as Lee Grosz and Cody Ledger battled for the fifth position.  Ian Madsen was too much as he took the win.

Ryan Bickett was your pole sitter in heat race number 3 and launched to a 4 car length lead over 2nd place running Billy Alley.  A caution came for the leader, Bickett, as he slowed in turn 2 on lap number 6.  On the restart Seth Brahmer was now your leader but it turn two, Billy Alley pulled a slide job on Brahmer and ended up making contact with Brahmer’s left rear tire that slowed Alley and allowed Brahmer to take the win.

The top 4 cars in the B feature would go on and transfer to tonight’s Speedway Motors A Feature event.

Wayne Johnson was a man on the mission in the B feature.  He started dead last and took the win which put him in the 17th starting spot in the A main.  Ryan Bickett, Chris Martin, and Cody Ledger also transferred to the main event.

The Speedway Motors A main started with Ian Madsen leading the field to the green flag.  On lap 2, Ian Madsen gained a half a front stretch lead over Billy Alley but Alley had Brian Brown knocking on his door on Lap 4.  Brown finally took over Alley in turn 4 with an amazing slide job.  Brian Brown had his work cut out for him as Ian Madsen approached lap traffic on lap 8.  Ian Madsen continued a 10 car length lead on lap 11 but Dusty Zomer was knocking on the door of 2nd place Brian Brian.  It was until lap 12 that Dusty Zomer took over 2nd place from Brown.  A battle between the Buffalo Wild Wings car and the Caseys General Storte car continued for 2 laps.  On lap 14 Dusty Zomer took the lead in 1 and 2 and stood on the gas to extended his lead to almost a full front stretch.  The battle continued for 2nd place with Ian Madsen and Brown.  It was hard to ignore a charging, Danny Lasoski, who finished the night 7th from a 15th place starting position.  Dusty Zomer was too much too handle as he”zoomed" away from the field as tonights Speedway Motors A feature winner and a $2,200 check to go along with it.  Ian Madsen, Brian Brown, Justin Henderson, and Stuart Snyder rounded out your top 5 position for the night.
