I'm off on Friday and thinking about making the 460 mile ride to the Grove.  How quick are they to pull the plug if the weather isn't good?

Hahaha.  That's a loaded question.  Sometimes they cancel very early, other times....

I know what you mean.... I was in between jobs at work and was looking for their reputation....some of the tracks around here will cancel on the forecast, others you can expect to see a show if at all possible

About 8 years ago, dad and I ended up having a Friday off randomly, and saw 410s and 360's (Kenny Adams) were racing at Williams Grove that night but weather wasn't looking great.  We flipped a coin to make our decision.  Heads told us to haul ass from Charlotte to Williams Grove.  They raced a few heat races and then hard rain came.  We knew it was over and was about to leave till someone on Beer Hill told us to stick around.  We hung around his camper for about three hours.  They asked us about Earnhardt and we asked them about Opperman.  They started racing again around 11.   We left the track around 2AM and got home in NC at 10AM.  It was literally a 24 hour road trip and one awesome maiden voyage to WG...

They will usually hold out a little longer for Outlaw shows but when it comes to regular shows, they typically pull the trigger pretty quick. There's been times that they cancelled and it never rained a drop all evening at the track. Right now the forecast for this weekend looks pretty nice so I wouldn't be too worried about it. Hope you enjoy the show.

4 of us are making the trip from Des Moines for the weekend. So we are keeping our fingers crossed they wont pull the plug to early. Then we cant decide on Lincoln or Port Royal for Saturday?? Any advice anyone?

As much as I am a huge fan of Port and love both the SLM and LLM divisions I think the logical choice is Lincoln as well. If you stay in Hanover you are literally right between Trail Way and Lincoln Speedway. Its about 5-10 minutes out of town to each one. Trail Way is one of the raciest tracks around and Lincoln is probably THE raciest track around.

Thanks,

Jeff.

Thanks for the heads up. I would be camping so I'm a little more vulnerable. I didn't realize Trailways was running & I've never been there. I'll likely decide Friday morning.

Is there any place to shower around mechanicsburg?

So are you guys making the trip solely for the races? If so that's great! I plan on going to 34 for NSL in a couple weeks...may see you there

I bought a trailer from Capitol Renegade so we are meeting them in Hanover to pick it up. Plus we have to go to DMI and pick up some rear ends. We just made sure we timed it so we could go to the Grove and Lincoln!!

CARLISLE TRUCK STOPS on Route 81 have showers or you can always go to Walmart or Sheetz and use the Restroom.

HOPE FOR BETTER CAR COUNTS AS THEY ARE DOWN AT ALL TRACKS SO FAR.

Very little rain Friday ending by noon, so you should be good all weekend.  Bring a seat cushion or blanket, especially for the concrete at Lincoln.  And save room for Sensenigs pit beef at Lincoln.  Time Trials at 6:00pm.  Enjoy!

Lincoln if you want to see racing....Port Royal if you want to see high speed freight train. All depends on what ya like. Both are good tracks just imo Lincoln has the better racing. Smaller track. If you get to see racing at the Grove expect about the same at Port only FASTER. again all on what you like.
