We can listen to headphones where I work so I bought an MP3 player. I have gotten into downloading and listening to Podcasts and like them because I can decide when and what to listen to. The word Podcast might sound kind of geeky but all they are is standard MP3 audio files that you can listen to through your computer speakers or load onto an MP3 player. Podcast is just a trendy new name and way of marketing something (MP3 files) that were around before they started selling these players.
I have been thinking about creating a local dirt track racing Podcast to offer on my website. There wouldn't be commercials but it would be a recap of news and information with some opinion, humor and off topic things thrown in. Maybe 20 minutes or so every couple of weeks, we'd test it out and see how it's received before getting on a regular schedule. I don't want to come off sounding like a pompous *ss because a lot of times I'm the last one to find out racing news so I don't have any insight beyond what everyone else has. I'm just willing to cull news and information that you might have missed on the web and present it in a convenient manner. My hobby is 50% learning technology and 50% my love of racing so if I didn't have a dirt racing website I'd probably be doing this on another topic. Fooling around with tech is something I enjoy and you are the benefactors (or victims depending on how you want to look at it).
I'd like some feedback to get an idea if it's worth my time to proceed to the next step. I've got background music that a friend and I wrote and recorded and have done some test Podcasts that sound decent so I'm ready to run with this on short notice. There's no sponsorship and I don't get paid for doing this so there won't be any commercials, just news and information with a little background music. Everything on the web is so commercial and driven by money anymore that it gets old dealing with all the advertisements on the internet. I want to put some feelers out there and see if it's worth my time and effort to do this.

That would be a little more than I had in mind, not that it's impossible but it's very time consuming. If there isn't very much response I'll probably scrap the idea. It never hurts to ask.
