SALLISAW — Wendell “King of the Hill” Brewer, 67, of Sallisaw died Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, in Sallisaw. He raced stock cars at the Crawford County Speedway.
He is survived by his wife, Diana; five daughters, Joetta and Mechelle Brewer, Connie Arnold and Wendy Rogers, all of Sallisaw, and LaDona Page of Broken Bow, Okla.; his mother, Gerturde Brewer; two sisters, Loise Langford of Alex, Okla., and Betty Atterberry of Newalla, Okla.; a brother, Kenny Brewer of Sallisaw; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A true Hero and Legend of Crawford County Speedway. Everyone remembers him being "King of the Hill" and his 13 Feature wins in a row. He came from the BACK to win, and showed his driving talent in true form, non of this starting on the front shit and getting easy wins because you're scared of slower cars being in front of you.
