I am very excited about this. My question is, do you HAVE to have a receceiver? Any scanner will work, correct? You just need to program in the correct frequencies, right?

I would think any scanner with the correct frequency range would work. But I did rent a raceiever unit at a NASCAR race (?) (don't tell anyone) and it was a good unit. It was enjoyable. I will likely purchase one.

Did anyone try using a scanner to hear Johnny or race control in Florida? How was the quality?

I went to volusia on a whim for Saturday & Sunday. I had intentions of purchasing a unit. I did not see any stands or trailers with raceclever signage and when I stopped at the WoO trlr to inquire only ome person was there and they were busy
