Lots of talk at the Expo Center that it is a done deal.

If the 2 founders want to get out, I can't think of a better set of hands to leave it with. Tony is a great caretaker for the sport!

Let's hope that some of his Chili Bowl track prep experience translates over to Eldora!

Does the phrase "over my dead body" mean anything to you? In this case it should. Lanny and Emmett basically make all their income for the year in this one event. ASCS exists solely because this event makes so much money, and Lucas kicks in the rest. I would venture there is a better chance that Forest Lucas purchases the Chili Bowl than Stewart, unless they put it up for sale to in some form of public sale that pits bidder against bidder. Either way I cannot see this happen.

Rumor mill is Stewart is buying ASCS and it would not surprise me if the Chili Bowl is included in the deal. Face it Emmitt is not getting any younger and might want to retire soon. I am sure Emmitt will be well taken care of off Chilli Bowl proceeds through the rest of his life.

This looks like a great debate topic - to which I agree and disagree with you. I agree that Emmit and Lanny will probably never sell this out. They'll hand it down to family because it does make so much money for both of them. I disagree Lucas would get involved in buying this event. He seems more interested in sponsoring these type of events vs. owning and operating them. That said, I believe having either Stewart or Lucas taking over this event would lead to one significant change needs....a promoter not interested in making his yearly cash cow at one event. Both of them have earned enough $ in their careers and I believe either one would put the cash back in the pockets of the competitors. Everyone knows this event is more about the golden driller than the cash...but I doubt any of the car owners would pass up the opportunity to take home a bit more moolah than this race currently pays out.

"X Person has made enough money". Please.... Even if there was a change in "ownership" I dont see many things changing as far as ticket prices, or payout. I'm sure there are things that can be improved if Smoke took over.... but those two things I wouldnt bet would be either of them.

I'm sure if they wanted to, the expo center could negotiate a lease for that time frame with anybody after the current agreement is set to expire. I believe they own is the name
