I am/was thinking about getting the PPV this weekend from Cocopah. Out of curiousity I looked at last nights results and it makes me wonder. Of the 13 races on the night, 9 of them had the front row finish 1 - 2 which screams to me No Passing. I generally don't just watch the race for the lead and never have but in general there didn't seem to be a lot of movement in many of the races, amirite? To those that have watched, care to share an opinion? Thanks in advance....

I noticed the same thing as well Mike. I guess the only other question is how is the racing in the mid to back of the pack?

The racing was great last night(wednsday) Larson got into lap traffic in 3 laps(A main). Pick a pill for the heats then do a second set by points(invert top 6) top 16 in points after that are in the A. Two sets of B mains with the top 4 in each B main going to the back of the A. Not a bad way to run a race. The heats at just about any track will not be that great, but once the track comes in the racing gets good, very good. We had a little rain last night so they brought out the tractor to help get it back into racing shape.
Larson had it won till he hit a hole in turn 1 and put the car sideways, Stewart went around him for the win. Larson and Stewart had such a large lead over third place that Larson lost only one spot. Lots of good drivers here, hope the track stays racy for Fri. and Sat. nights show.
All in All a very good race to watch live.

Rod, I like the format, but seeing the front row finish where they started most of the time scares me about the racing. It ain't about the money, a Friday at home watching racing keeps away from the horsestrack so it's often a much cheaper night no matter the cost, lol. I am aware of the quality of the racers, that's surely a bonus in any equation, but I hate follow the leader racing or huggy-pole racing and those results seem to lean to that conclusion....

I have not watched any of it. I did see some post by someone who has watched all 3 days so far. The first weekend had great racing but last night didn't. He said the track was not very wide and one lane for the most part. Maybe it was due to the weather from the night before? Hopefully, this weekend will be more like last weekend than yesterday. I thought of ordering as well.

Well Sammy's entry was one of the big reasons I decided to go.... oh well
Also I'm looking forward to eating at the restaurant right across the street from Motel 6. I figured Yuma would be a good place for Mexican food, was kind of disappointed. The place across the street was "Chretien's"... sounded like an expensive French place. The last nite I ate there,,, KILLA Mexican food....
It was fun last year...we'll see
GO HODNETT!

My guess is you'll complain heavily if you do buy it, so save us all some annoying posts and don't.
The A Mains at Cocopah are quite good, the b mains and qualifiers are okay, and the heats are snoozers. As the track widens out, the racing improves. Basically like every other 410 race.

The last two nights have been great racing. Saturday night watching Larson run the wall and the way around. And last night racing on a really rough track made everything exciting. Lap traffic has definitely made the show both nights.

I don't like the two b main deal because it always seems two great cars walk away and make it seem anticlimactic.

Seen all 3 nites so far. I do not want to be to critical because it is racing in the middle of winter. The drivers seem to like the format. I wish they had more than 1 camera and they have never shown a shot of the crowd. I have been trying to figure out if they have new WOO rule on RR tire and wing g-lip. I think it is worth the money as 3 of us split the cost for all 5 nites. People have brought us racing in the middle of winter and I want to thank them.

I complain about lousy racing, the cost means nothing to me. You see 100+ races a year for as many years as I did I am very familiar with lousy races and know the difference between that and fast, loud cars that excite others no matter what happens. I'm guessing you're in that latter category 1600 or some Posse cheerleader, your final words 'basically like every other 410 race' tell me what little you really know or have some silly grudge, maybe a go-kart star, who knows....

I bought the package deal and would again even though the racing has been less than exciting for the most part. So far Saturday night has been the best all around night (others seem to agree). Yeh there has been quite a bit of follow the leader, but some of the heats Saturday night did have some good passing from back in the field. Wednesday night the A Main was Stewart chasing Larson....sometimes closing in and then with Larson's bobble, Stewart winning. Nobody else was close. Hard to tell about some of the mid pack racing as the camera seems to get locked in on certain positions and staying there...usually the front runner even when he's long gone. Some nights are great, some nights aren't. That's the nature of the sport. I watch because it beats anything else either way, and when the racing is great...nothing beats it, in my opinion. When drivers like Lasoski, Brown, Rico and others have a really hard time advancing, I set the fault on the track conditions. If you have a favorite team in another sport, do you quit watching when they may be having a bad year? I don't. I'm a sprint car fan, and I won't quit being one.
