We all know that this is an under resourced team and perhaps the biggest underdog amongst WOO regulars. With this in mind, has anyone noticed the progress that Schuchart has made? Assuming he's running the same equipment and setups as Jacob Allen, at what time does grandpa notice that he might be better off running a one car operation w Schuchart?

Doesn't matter, because Bobby said he wanted to do three years on the tour then come home.  This is their third year.  Personally I think Jacob has progressedmore then Logan the past two years.

I agree. Jacob's improvement is remarkable. Jacob went on tour with one career 358 feature win and little to no 410 experience. Logan was the National Rookie of the Year as a local, beat the ASCoC and opened a lot of eyes when he led laps at National Open weekend in his 2nd 410 start.

Granted, given that information Jacob had a lot more room to grow but in terms of improvement, Jacob has done an outstanding job on tour and I think going on the road has expedited his learning process and has turned him into a solid driver.

Logan has improved in a different sense. Rather than rarely being a threat to break into the top 10, he has now progressed to the point where he is regularly expected to be in contention for said top 10 run. Throw in an occasional top 5 and sliding back and forth for the win and Logan has improved noticablely as well.

It's difficult to compare the two because of where they stood 2 years ago, but it's great to see that they are still trucking through on the tour and it seems to be paying dividends in their progress as young drivers.

Logan had a few seasons of 410 experience before the WoO, nothing compares to seat time in racing and Jacob simply needs more. As far as dropping to a 1 car team, Bobby has acomplished what he set out to do, he kept his 2 boys on the road for the last 2 years and going into their third. Bobby already won, the time together with his family , the experience gained and the fact that Logan and Jacob are household names in the Sprintcar world is a huge win, I've been pulling for these guys since they were in 358's. Keep it up Shark racing, this experience will pay dividends for as long as you race.

This.......

I remember seeing them in Fla. in 2014 after they couldn't even get Jacob's car fired for the first WoO race of the year and thinking..."they won't even make it until June. Two full years later I'll take my crow with a dash of Tabasco please.

I think that is how they are financing it by running two cars out of one trailer. Twice the tow money with only one diesel fuel bill. The Outlaws usually pay $800 to start plus $500 tow money so if both cars make the show they are getting over $2500 a night just to start plus quite a bit of point money at the end of the year. That would be like both of them running 2nd or 3rd every single night locally to make the same money.

I think it is completely amazing that Scruffy has kept the deal going on 3 years now. Never would have thought it possible. Thought his tow rig alone would have gave up the ghost. People say they mostly sleep in their rig so they don't have to pay for hotels. Bet you the rig smells real good inside...lol. They also mostly run used tires everyone else gives them.

I guess it is true it isn't the size of the dog in the fight, it is the size of the fight in dog. Scruffy dog I guess. 70 years old or maybe it would seem just 10 in dog years. Keep her going Scruff. Everyone is pulling for you. True inspiration. You are giving all the kids in the pit area an old school phd, not just Logan & Jacob.

Cubicdollar's - that's a great response / rationale. Also reveals that the little guy can still be a factor / competitor in this sport. Credit to old school Bobby on figuring out a way to game the system. Gets his boys some great experience and exposure without breaking his bank financially.

Do they start and park or just fall out...lol? Seems like they finish races when their cars stay running.

I hate to admit it by I actually can give them half a pass on running junk chinese race cars because they get them for free and they don't have any money. Mainly because they change a lot of the tubing around when they get them to make them actually work anyway.

I feel choices born strictly out of survival have kept scruffy racing for 50 years and deserve a little leeway. Anyone should be able to understand and appreciate that. The guy literally has nothing to prove to no one.
