HELL YES! Hail to the one and only King Kinser. 60 years old and still kicking some ass. Amazing. Just when you think he maybe won his last race, boom. He parks it again!

If anyone wants some more detail I've summarised both Western Springs Intl Series Sprintcar Features on my website. The first one is the better read, last nights race was compromised by our track crew who decided to re-invent the wheel on track preparation and came up short.

You're right. I was mistaken as well. I hope this doesn't bring about any unnecessary venom or negativity but I think it is so cool that 2 of the 3 drivers who helped build the World of Outlaws and sprint car racing as a whole are still out there racing and winning. I know a lot of people don't like Sammy but you gotta respect the fact that at his age, he's still VERY capable of wheeling the hell out of a sprint car. I've never done it but I know some folks who have and these cars are a bitch to drive.....with or without the wings. It really takes a special breed of human being to have the combination of balls and talent that it takes just to run competitively let alone at the level that Steve and Sammy have for so many years. Steve isn't winning like he used to but he's still winning and at 61 years of age, that's incredible. The races he's won in recent years haven't been against weekly 305 teams either (no disrespect intended), they've been against some pretty stout competition and mostly guys who are half his age and in much better physical condition. Truly amazing. There aren't too many guys who have won sprint car races at 60 years of age or older. Sammy just turned 60 and he will no doubt join that elite group here very soon. It's very unfortunate how Wolfgang's career got derailed because its damn possible that if he hadn't been injured, we may still be seeing him school the kids once in awhile.

Doug remains in excellent physical condition despite the life long injuries sustained in that damn fire. Staying in shape is simply a way of life for him. I have no doubt, had he not sustained the injuries he did....namely the two broken necks, he'd still be able to win just as Sammy and Steve are. And he has them both by a few years in age!

Not sure what motor but just from looking at the picture of the car, I'm 99% sure that the chassis is a Maxim.

I don't doubt it one bit. As far as God given talent, he was definitely just as good as Steve and Sammy. It's a damn shame that such a brilliant career got cut short the way it did. Thankfully, he's still with us because both of those crashes easily could've taken more than just his ability to drive a sprint car. To this day, he's still my favorite driver to listen to in interviews. He's so articulate yet so damn funny with his way of words and brutally honest. If you ask him his opinion, he'll be as respectful as he can but you won't get any PC bullshit because he'll tell it like it is.
