I haven't heard Leonard McCarl's name mentioned in a long time. Is this gritty ole veteran involved in sprint car racing in any way?

No, Lenard is 76 and retired. He has Macular Degeneration & Parkinsons. But, he gets around pretty good. He is a tough ole' bird. Lol.

He was at the Bob Trostle visitation last week. Didn't get a chance to talk to him, just saw him come in.

One of the best ever when you had to rely on being able build what it took.Much like BobTrostle,Sooners, and several old school racers. The racing today is closer as everyone buys what it takes and gets down to set up and driver.Getting old happens to all of us but Lenard was one of a kind.

I am not sure but I think it was the first time the woo came to Fargo to run. I think it was a couple days before they raced in Fargo and Lenard showed up at Buffalo River Speedway and just dominated everyone there that night. I will never forget that. I never missed a sprint car outlaw show at Red River Speedway and I was always with my dad when he was alive. Many good memories. Thanks Lenard. You were my first outlaw hero.
