Listening to Winged Nation this week Brian Carter announced World Finals are being moved up 2 weeks in 2016 to Oct. 27-29 which is historically the same weekend as STN. Wonder if they will run head to head or will STN pull up or out a week. Going the weekend after the World Finals might be a good move to allow Woo teams to run. Should be interesting.

The 2016 STN dates were announced in October, they are still on the 4th weekend of October, the 19th-22nd.

Interesting, because the All Stars Finale in 2016 will be a two day show at Atomic that same weekend as STN.

So far I have these major shows all penciled in for the weekend of Oct. 19-22:

  • Short Track Nationals
  • Trophy Cup
  • All Star finale at Atomic
  • Leffler Memorial POWRi at Wayne City, IL (this date not announced yet, but historically it has been this weekend)

The weather issue as you probably can figure was I'm sure there reason for moving dates . Hopefully this will help Port Royal get a better date but then it might not because of Lady Williams Grove .

Has happened before. Might hurt car count a little but there is plenty at each place if it conflicts.

Port's date will likely stay the same which would be the week before this. Port has been lucky with the weather the last two years. Given the success of Port's show the last two years if anything the people in control may push to have Port dropped all together for fear some might stop attending  that race a few weeks before that date in favor of attending Port.
