Why is it that Kasey Kahne drivers are all very high on themselfs. There crew members are just like them. They all think they are so special. Brad Sweet is above and beyond himself, Pittman is OK. What do you all think.

I disagree completely. Brad Sweet is a down to earth driver, you must be thinking about someone else. As a Sammy fan your sense of awareness is most likely very distorted.

Cheers!

Have you ever spoken with one of them in person, and not in the middle of a race night?   Brad and Daryn have always been great before and after the races.   Like any serious driver at his job, they won't make small talk once their driver's suit goes on, they have one of the most sought after sprint rides in the country, they have to be serious about everything they do all night.

I have had a couple HOF driver's in our cars over the years, and a couple sure to be ones lately.  They all pretty much become quiet, moody and short tempered when wheel packing starts until later that night after the main.

I disagree but you're entitled to your opinion. Out of curiousity, what are you basing your opinion on?

I thought of a good comparison.  How do you think you would be received if you went onto your favorite NFL sidelines during the game, or into the dugout at your favorite MLB team and wanted to chat about how their day is going, or tell them how much you admire them and ask for an autograph?  The way racing works you have that access to the drivers.  But that doesn't mean you should take advantage of it, especially after the first green flag drops.  Same with the crews.  They aren't your buddies at the local dirt track having a fun saturday night before they head out for pizza.  They are racing to literally feed their families, pay their rent or mortgage, motor home fuel, health insurance, car insurance, utility bill, food, underwear, socks, save for retirement, hope they don't get hurt that night, blah, blah, blah.

You want them to be all warm and fuzzy?

Granted its been a couple years but Brad Sweet was always down to earth the times I've met and talked with him.
I wish him nothing but success.

I envision a forum where we can share interesting information about our local race scene so others have insight about what's happening in our own backyard, and I in yours.  To share worthwhile opinions about how racing is going nationally, and even internationlly now that Australia and NZ are up and running.    I am in California and love hearing about what's going on in Pa and Indiana each week.  But every time I look at a post on Hoseheads about how WIlliams Grove (for example)is doing, the next thing I know a bunch of mentally 12 year olds start talking about Posse vs Outlaw, your guys suck, promotors are dicks, scheduling is all wrong, Sammy should retire, Steve Kinser said he was then didn't.  Blah, blah, blah.

Now here in this post, Brad and crew are uppity.  You obviously don't know Brad.  We were at Stockton DIrt Track this weekend.   It was the Gary Patterson Classic.  That guy (Gary)didn't smile and acknowlwdge you during the races.  He often didn't smile even after he won.  He was there for one thing, to do his job, and I was there 50 feet away when he died at his job in Calistoga.  It was a sight you can never get out of your mind, even after 30 years.  How's that for needing to be serious about your job.

Is there a forum where real racers and knowledgable fans can go to share ideas and observations like I would if I were visiting Pa or Indiana and sitting down and having a beer with someone?  This forum started with that idea years ago.  How nice if we had a moderator who can just erase B.S. and let positive and interesting information flow around and help build support for the sport we are all passionate about.  I don't care about free speach, they aren't trying to take my guns away, I just want to know how the track conditions were 2,000 miles away and how many fans are showing up for your 360 vs 410 tracks, etc without getting into a school yard name calling contest.  I want to know how Rahmer or whoever did in the main, because finishing order doesn't alway tell the whole story.  We went to a great KWS and CIvil War race at Stockton.  TK was a rocket until he biked in turn two and ended up running much of the main with a broke birdcage.  Turn one and three were brutal, they really were racing the track as much as each other.  It was an elbows up four wheels off the ground at times track.  Dennis Roth was there and is looking forward to 2016.  He's a great guy, real person, smiles and very well spoken when you talk to him before and after the races.  Leroy VanConnet was in the stands enjoyning the races.  He looks like he could get back in a car today.   Real conversations, real people, real info.  People could try to post the way they would actually speak to or about someone in person.   Looks like I am now the whiner.

Both seem like nice, down to earth guys to me. What did they do to give you that opinion of them?

My brother worked on Darrah's car on Thursday and Friday night.  I had to work.

I was going to help on Saturday but heard of the cancelation that morning so I stayed home out of the rain.  Well... the crew chief decided to load everything up and head to the shop to clean everything and change engines.  He had no help, so I called a buddy who loves working on sprints and told him Justin needed help.  He showed up at the rig quickly and got to ride in the rig with him back to KKR.  I met them at the shop a little later that afternoon.

The fan/my friend was in heaven helping out.  Him and Cody filled fuel jugs, cleaned out the rig, mounted tires.  Later everyone helped change an engine and loaded the rig.  He showed up just to be a fan in the stands at the World Finals and in the end got to crew for a KKR team.

If thats uppity on the part of KKR, I dont know what to tell you.

Brad Sweet is a great guy!  He ran one of my karts at Larsons race at Cycleland this year.  Super kid.  Very down to earth and genuine.

That being said, when those guys are at the track, they are there to work.  Its all business.

Maybe your encounter with Brad or his crew was in the middle of a critical time, and they just didnt have the time to stand around and BS!

I think you should take a look in the damn mirror. You're bitching about supposed negative personalty traits in people who you don't know personally on a public forum. Perhaps it's you who has a bit of a personality issue? Maybe you should just grow a set of balls and walk up to the KKR haulers next time their in your area and tell them all face to face what you think of them. You wouldn't do that would you? Didn't think so.
