We are going to run a cheaters race, (9/22) its a run what u brung deal and hope its enough. The track normally is so bad lap times will be several seconds slower, I know all the gripes about how good racers dont need traction control but it would be a huge advantage and legal in this case. I would really like to rent it and return it , if anyone has one and wants to make a deal let me know thanks much.

Who is going to admit to having it in order to rent it to you??? LOL
If you find it, please report back here as to how you think it worked or made a difference on dirt. I have heard from some drivers who admitted to trying it and said it doesn't work on dirt very well. Are they lying? I'd be interested in hearing how it works out for you.

I can hook you up with one. $3500 deposit and $500 rent for a week Although it is going to be hard to just go to one race and fine tune it.

Wasn't me who said that - that was Ed who was talking about TC not me.

I've heard a few guys in the Stars run TC. One was real easy to pick out during speedweek.

Davis Technologies is the forerunner in Traction Control Technology. Our line of Traction Master products are unlike any others available. The most unique feature is that they do not use any external sensors. Through a patented process developed by Davis Technologies, the units are able to control wheel spin by monitoring the cars performance and relative position on the track. These systems are actually able to detect wheel slip better than most wheel speed sensor based systems. The reason for this is that our systems monitor the rotation of the crankshaft through the distributor signal. The distributor fires every 90 degrees of crank rotation (V8), and w/ a 1:1 top gear you can measure tire rotation within 1/4 of a turn. Now, factor in a 5:1 final drive (rear end) ratio and tire rotation can be measured within 1/20 of a turn (that is about 4-5 inches on most tires). The fact that the engine is turning much faster than the wheels, amplifies the slip at the crankshaft, making our systems very sensitive.
Typically, sensor based systems measure tire rotation no more than every 1/4 of a turn. The front and rear are compared to each other to check for slip. With a margin of error of 1/4 of a turn at each wheel, it may take as much as 1/2 of a turn of tire slip for the system to react. If a tire is allowed to slip a half a turn before a correction is made, it is very hard to stop the slip.
