The National tour schedule is set up so on off wkends the National guys can stay close to home & pickup wins. Some call it cherry picking. I call smart setup by ASCS to take care of there drivers.   Eith way u look at it the ASCS  is  a die'n breed as the NSL is fixing to take over 360 racing as we know it

The Warrior region in MO has already annouced an increased schedule with increased payouts and increased points fund for next year.  Impact Signs came on as a sponsor.  All that was surprising considering how it's been going.  It looks like it may be difficult for NSL 360s to get into MO next year.  And we still don't know what the motor rules will be.  It's about time for Tommie to decide on something.

The NSL  (northern sprint league) will not make it south of Kansas city. Especially if they don't pull their heads out and give us a rules pkg. Lots of sprints here in the south, already invested in ASCS engines.

From what i have been told it will be real soon, the rules release. If you cannot wait just contact them. I am sure they would be helpful on giving you a heads up on up coming news. Good bunch of guys getting this deal together, and much needed!

I think some of this is going to depend on what rules NSL goes with.  If its the gasket that's being rumored that means you won't be able to run the same motor with ASCS.  Well you could but you'd have no chance.  So then what are the other series and weekly tracks going to do.  Sprint Invaders, USCS, Knoxville, Badlands, Little Rock, Memphis, XX, etc.  Change is needed but it's not going to be easy.  If ASCS would have sold out to NSL as I heard they were thinking about we'd be in a better place.  But now it's going to be a fight and probaly not a pretty one.

Okay, here is my take on this topic.   I am a little uneasy on this NSL thing.  Its great that they are going to set up a healty point fund and lots of midwest races but I have been told the rumor is that All Pro wants to produce a head for the NSL 360's.   Basically All Pro donates to the point fund and gets to intruduce a head designed to run with an intake restrictor gasket.   Now you can still run an ASCS head with this gasket but If I was to venture out on this one,  If the All Pro head is designed around the gasket it will be able to move similar CFMS but the low lift numbers and velocity will be greater.

This will make the ascs heads at a disadvantage.  This is not a good plan as 75 pecent of the current teams have spent the money to bring there heads up to 2015 rule change level.  This will cost everybody more money.   All I can think of to keep what current equipment most people have is the NSL better do some extensive flow bench and dyno testing so the Heads will be on a level playing field.

I have also heard that Knoxville will not change rules and will be running ASCS rules as before.  In my opinion this is a good thing.   360's dont need another head that causes the current ASCS heads to be outrun by a new head.  If you want to produce a different head to be able to run thats fine,  But make Damn sure one or the other doesnt have an advantage!!!

It's intesrting out of no where NSL is going to re-invinte wing sprint car racing and car counts are majicly appear. This is the same guy who bullied knoxville into 12 dates, why ????? 15 cars I-80, 15 at Des Moines, 15 Britt  25 for his 25,000 to win at Jackson the list goes on. Get the picture here? The goal here is NOT to  save 360 racing just ask Estes who was quoted twice stating the goal is to KILL 360 racing

You all are living in a fantasy world! First off, Kilgore was a Red River Region race, there aren't 12 regulars in the Red River Region. 2nd, there were 45 cars at Devils Bowl. Yeah, the ASCS is dead. 3rd, nobody has been able to tell me what track in Missouri or Texas will book a NSL race. Oh, that's right, because NONE will. 4th, okay, the NSL will pick up all 5 cars in Kansas. 5th, the first set of gaskets went on an engine at Wesmar last weekend. Who do you know that's going to guinea pig a set of gaskets without going back to the dyno? And do you really think that a team that cherry picks will swap gaskets from race to race? So now you need two engines. Smart. 6th, let's look at a VERY likely scenario. Okay, you DO have two engines, one with a set of gaskets, one without. You pull into a ASCS race, shell an engine and put in the gasket engine, all is well, you're just down on power a bit, but you still get to race. You pull into a NSL race, shell your gasket engine and you just became a spectator. There are also rumors that the Short Track Nationals will be going NSL racing in 2016. That being said, do you REALLY think the gaskets will be required?

From none to one this year to seven nights in 2016.  Racing is back at the State Fairgrounds in a big way.  Good to see and an easy drive from KC.

Agreed! Remember the reception the new mufflers got at the STN several years back?

While anyone can debate the ASCS being dead or not, Mr. Dirt is entirely correct that ASCS is on the decline.   I don't ever remember ASCS National shows drawing 70 cars.  If they did it must have been years ago.  For the last several years anywhere from 45 to 50 cars has been the norm.   You can definetly see the decline in the regional shows though.  Some of those shows could draw 30 to 35 cars, but now only draw a fraction of that.

The sad truth is that sprint car racing sucks in the North Texas area.   If the NSL can change that then I welcome it.   I guess I'll just get some popcorn and watch the show and see how it turns out...
