Heard I-30 tweaked the finale purse this year, reducing the back end pay and transferring it to the front end, paying more to those who actually race for position, rather than those who just start and park afer a few laps
I still dont understand why they wont vary the pay for the Thursday/Friday preliminary transfers, the top 3 still pays the same, and because of that, some drivers wont bother to do what Brian Brown did last year, he was running third on a late race restart, and made a daring move on the last lap to win the prelim, and in doing so, gave the fans a thrilling finish, when he could just as well ran third, since there is no pay differnce between fist and third, Ive heard Gary Wright, Dale Blaney, Tim Shaffer, Sammy Swindell and a few others state in post race interviews that once they cracked the top three, they didnt bother pushing it, being there's no pay variation.

10th is $3,000, 15th is $2,100 and it's $2000 to start...the complete payback is posted on the entry form.

Talk about those who race for position. At a recent race the winner starts on the pole, leads the entire race and wins $25,000. And someone like the eighteenth starter advances to sixth and wins $2,400. You say they need to transfer more money to the front end . I don't think so. According to what you said, it sounds like those in the back are racing for position and those in the front aren't. Maybe transfer some of that money to those who actually race for position.
