GoMuddy.Com Jackson Nationals

Conclude At Jackson Speedway

JACKSON, MN – The GoMuddy.Com Jackson Nationals wrapped up Saturday night at the Jackson Speedway with the A Features for both the Last Deck 360 and FVP/NSL 410 Sprint Cars. With a field of  23 Last Deck 360 Winged Sprints and 31 FVP/NSL 410 Winged Sprints, a near-capacity crowd enjoyed

A silent auction was conducted on Friday and Saturday to benefit sprint car driver Kevin Swindell, and through the generosity of fans and Todd and Lisa Quiring and Big Game Tree Stands and the FVP/National Sprint League, $30,000 was raised through the auction and donations to be directed to Kevin Swindell and his family.

In the initial night of action on Friday, two new quick times were set for the Speedway. In the Last Deck 360 Sprints, Russ Hall of Pleasant Hill, IA, set a time of :16.366 and in the FVP/NSL 410 Sprints, Sammy Swindell of Germanton, TN., set a new track record of 15.461, breaking the old track record set in 2001 by Sam Haeftertepe of :15.601.

In heat race action, the Last Deck 360 heats went to Chris Martin, Derrik Lusk and Lee Grosz. For the FVP/NSL 410 Sprints, heat winners were Scott Winters, Mark Dobmeier, Bill Balog and Austin McCarl. In the FVP/NSL “B” Feature, Paige Polyak claimed the checkers.

For the “A” feature in the Last Deck 360 winged sprints, Thomas Kennedy of Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada took the green flag in the pole position. Turning a quick lap of :17.764 for a speed of 101.329 miles per hour, Kennedy built up a five-second lead before a late yellow flag, but held on to lead every one of the 25 laps to win the 2015 Jackson Nationals 360 Winged Sprint Title.

It would be a similar story for the FVP/NSL 410 Winged Sprint A Feature event as Sammy Swindell of Germantown, TN turned in a best lap of :17.627 for a top speed of 102.116 miles per hour to lead the 25 lap feature from flag to flag for the $25,000 winner’s check.

The final races of the season will come up the weekend of Sept. 25 and 26 for the IMCA Nationals to close out the 2015 racing Season at Jackson Speedway.
