Yes , your right it is ashame to see another track go down , more should have been done and could have been done . While I realize NY STATE is the modified capital of the USA , I would like to see it move around to other areas ,but the deal has been made to keep it in NY . Fans in all parts of the US should be able to see a lot of different races and diehard fans will travel to see there favorites , but its not as easy because of economy now . Also I have not seen the WRG invest any real money in facility that they've owned , oh , yes for track prep but not other items that need attention

It's definitely a shame. When the Missouri State Fair did away with their mile, it left only five left. Syracuse, Indiana Fairgrounds, Springfield, Du Quoin, and Sacramento. Does Sacramento still exist?

Site of the greatest car racing in history. Steve and Haud 1992.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Awesome, awesome race. Steve initially just seems happy to be alive when he takes off his helmet in victory lane. Great wheel to wheel racing at high speeds. Reminds me of the tight racing with high speeds at Bristol that Sammy and Shepard had in 2001.

Yes Sacramento mile still there and they race flat track ama there once or twice a week but no sprint car races for maybe 7 or 8 years. Teams from east wont pull out here for one race so its a done deal count it out as well. We ran Del Mar one year and it was a awesome event and picturesque and one for the ages but the horse people threw a fit and thats that. So count them out!!!

We're lucky to still have our half-mile at Sedalia.

The first ever W of O race I saw was at the Moody mile back in '92 I think. Sammy WON and then later on that night WON again a few miles up the road at Rolling Wheels, still the only driver to win 2 W of O shows at different tracks on the same day. I then saw Sammy WIN two nights later at Lernerville where I met Don Martin who gave me a brief tour of the place, what a class act that man was....
