Dan has been a tremendous supporter of the sport. I've talked to him over the years...he's a gentleman. He must be an incredible business man to pay for the equipment he has. Unfortunately he is the ultimate example of why the sport is in neutral to put it nicely. Luna was always way ahead of him year after year. I used mention trying to run something unique or different and he just laughed. He is still only focusing on his driver like its the only thing that matters. His current driver was a constant championship threat anytime he stayed healthy for several years with Mopar power. The 71m has had the mighty chev in her since day one with Joey and has performed nothing like the Mopar. Even the engine builder is the same. Time to think outside the box just a little wee bit and make the sport exciting again.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Go ahead and cut him a big fat check and I'll bet he will. It's really easy to spend someone else's money when you don't have a horse in the race.

So is Schatz beating him regularly because the TSR cars are running a Mopar or Ford Motor?

That has long been standard on this board -- posters without a penny invested telling owners with six or seven figures worth of equipment how to spend their money.

I don't get how you just don't understand that the motor is not the silver bullet in racing that you for some reason think it is. As the entire formula goes with a car, everything has to work together, not just that you have some crazy high powered Ford motor and you'll win every race. Have you ever been around car setups, an inch of stagger in the tires makes a big difference for tight or loose and thats just one thing you can do, you have bars that you can raise and lower and shocks with hundreds of compressions and speeds you can pick from and each change on a dirt car makes a significant difference along with factoring in a ever changing track. Ask a racer sometime if he'd rather have a car that is setup right on the money for the track but maybe a little less horsepower or a car with the most power in the field but its loose into the corner, I think I know the answer you will get because that all powerful car will not win the race because the driver will have a hell of a time handling it.
Google sprint car setup sheets sometime and take time to look at all the different things there are involved in the setups on these cars. Guys you talk to and you say they laugh when you ask about your motor deal, its because your truly not bringing anything new up to them, if a Ford or Mopar motor was the answer they would all have one, its not that they can't get them, Schatz could have Shaver build him a Ford motor, they don't because its not a solution. Your always on here acting like you have the answer and no one else can figure it out, have you ever drove or crew chiefed a higher class race car? Sprint, Late Model, A Mod? These guys put thousands of hours into this stuff and if your simple fix was as easy as changing motors and boom, you win, they would all have done it long ago. Luna's cars ran well because all pieces were clicking in unison, car, setup, motor, driver and crew chief. Not just because they had a Ford motor. Your not respected on here because you come off as Smug, like you know some secret that no one else is smart enough to catch onto and I'm going to guess that you have no actual race car experience to back it, if I'm wrong let me know where you race or what car you work on so we can all check out the stats to backup your knowledge.

.......................and if that mighty Ford engine would allow anyone to beat the field night in and night out, wouldn't everyone have one regardless of the cost? Must not be as special as mindless thinks.....................................

And everyone refered to Luna's Ford powered car as "the penalty box".

Right on the money. I'm not a driver. I've never set up a car or turned a wrench on one. All I do is watch but I know enough to know, the motor is only a small part of the whole deal including the guy who drives it which I think is still the most important part of winning in these cars. I've actually heard from people who are in the pits working on cars that a lot of guys have actually detuned their motors and got faster because they aren't lighting the tires up when the track blows off. Minthess is an idiot. Another one of those people I'd love to buy for what they're worth and sell for what they think they're worth. If I could do that, I could own a car.
