The guy they have working the p.a. system during the races for the NSL is pretty good. I enjoy watching the NSL highlight videos and I like listening to this guy. He sounds calm, and methodical in his approach, like the guys who do play by play on the radio for Major League baseball. He is easy to listen to.

I am excited for the NSL. It looks like it is going to take off. I think the All Stars will be stronger next year too. Regional racing is where it is at...the economy being the way it is right now.

The NSL has that big $25,000 to win race coming up. I'd like to see the All Stars have a big race like that every year as well, maybe at the end of the season.

in any case, thank you Tony and Tod for what you are doing and have done so far.

I think you are referring to Chet Christner. I wholeheartedly agree with you, he is fantastic. I think the Speed Shift TV recaps are fantastic largely due to his abilities. He doesn't try to do too much with his announcing, yet calls the race accurately and excitingly.

I agree, Chet is fantastic, as well as funny.  I love watching speedshift on-line and interacting with them via twitter.  Good Stuff.  The 25k Jackson Nationals is going to be awsome.  25k to win 10 2nd .. - 24th 1000.  Nice purse.  The 360 is lacking with 2k to win but I'll take what I can get!  Tod is doing some nice things for the midwest.

I agree! He sees and announces the race as it is happening and doesn't just fall back on a cliche to make it sound more exciting. One well known announcer has sprint cars banging wheels darn near every event......when they are racing close.....but NOT close to banging wheels....that announcer also doesn't seem to know the difference between 1-2 car lengths vs 4-5 lengths sometimes. No need to "sell" me on the product. I'm already tuned in! just describe the race! That's what Chet Christner does.

thanks for the heads up...I just tuned in to Speed Shift  TV on YouTube and enjoyed the measured announcing style.

less over the top hyperbole as though the race is exploding in excitKent each lap is a refreshing change...

I have traveled to several NSL events and agreed they are on to some good things. I for one wish Tod would concentrate on the 410 series. I think overall he needs a stronger 410 base of cars, I think the 360 stuff might get in the way of 410 progress.

Hope Sunday it's the NSL announcer. One less night I have to listen to the "mohawk motormouth" from the IRA.
