...it was the guy driving the Pella Motors two-seater sprint car, haha! On Saturday night, the first time they brought that car out, the right rear wheel flew off just as they were coming out of 4. The car chased up the track, but they kept ot out of the wall, thankfully. I laughed my ass off when Wade asked the passenger if the back of his drivers suit was still clean after that. Pretty crazy to see that happen, and glad no one got hurt. So whoever the driver was, I salute you!

Haha. Hell of a save by any standard. I just caught the last of it as the crowd gasped. I turned to see it nosing hard to the turn 4 fence. Must have been the ride of a lifetime for sure.
I was at Bristol the first year of the Outlaw show and the 2 seater was there. The Amaco 94 I believe. After 2 laps and nearly loosing it a WoO official came out and waved it off. The rest of the raffle winners were given some cash and that was all of the 2 seater rides for the weekend. LOL.

If I remember the guy who was the passenger said he got the ride as a guest of Tony Stewart Motorsports. The driver could have been Tony. He was there in the winners circle. You are right, that could have been a lot worse.

That two seater is a flippin joke. They need to scrap it before somebody gets hurt. One of the biggest problems with Knoxville is that they think the fans need entertainment when all they are there for is sprint car racing. Anybody that has been there for a few years remembers that stupid rodeo clown who was even worse than the two seater.

The rodeo clown was the biggest joke I've ever witnessed at the place. Now that they have the new HD screens they should show some old Nationals footage during down time. But what do I know, I'm just some Canadian sprint car fan.

I'd take a ride in the two seater around Knoxville in a heartbeat. Hell, I don't care if we crash, I've got good insurance. I'm thinking of going out next year for my first time and just living in my truck for the week. I can shower at truck stops, right? You guys have Love's out there, right? Is this plan feasible or a pipe dream? Thanks for any answers in advance.

I saw a friend on my way back up on the elevator and he said he had just ridden it and was on his way back to his seat. He said it was $300 for 3 laps and he was so thrilled that he was going to do it every year.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

Didn't one of the Aussies turn it over while giving his wife a ride a few years ago? At least I think that was the deal. I can't remember his name. I think he got into the fence a little and it did a slow tip over. I just remember it was hilarious.

Last I remember, Pella Motors (who owns the 2 seater) donates the $$$ to the KRCO from the 2 seater rides.
Me personally could care less if it's on the track or not (I don't watch it), but for those that spend the $$$ to ride, I want to say: THANK YOU, your $$ goes to a good cause and helps out injured drivers (and the local drivers and fans to help keep them safe by purchase of additional safety equipment over the years like New Full-Containment seats, axle tethers, drivers suits, helmets, fireproof underwear, etc.).
My guess is the driver was Chris Walraven (he's driven it most of the year).

Has anybody been hurt in it? Like Vande said the money goes towards the KCRO. And from the sounds of it the ones that pay or win to get in it would do it again.
Green white checked in the 2 seater doesn't bother me. It's takes a couple of minutes while there is no racing going on anyways.
Many fans at Knoxville complain about the stupidest stuff. Guess what, many people do like to be entertained while there's down time.
You're the perfect candidate to go read Mandee Pauch's blog about The Ugly Truth About Racing...

The fact that the 2 seater was running when Bokhoven was interviewing sponsors was unfortunate.

The loudest cheers from the fans the entire night came when that 2-seater rolled to a stop on the front stretch

Jimmy Sills gave former Hoser of the Year Shawn McDonald the two seater ride from hell at Chico during the Gold Cup one year. Shawn was strapped in the car and I literally mean that, his hands were duck taped to the steering wheel as well as his head and on top of that he had NO DRIVERS SUIT on. I think so many people told Jimmy to scare him that he finally had enough and that was his plan. He jumped the cushion a few times and never lifted once, might be the single greatest thing I've ever witnessed in my entire time on this planet. On top of that I witnessed it from the infield standing next to Ted Johnson who was losing his mind the whole time, I was laughing and crying at the same time I think. So happy my best buddy was livin' the dream and just as happy Ted was so pissed. I am sure there are lots of people in here who remember this and I had and have seen others post the photo of Shawn barreling down the front stretch where you see him duck taped in, head and hands, please print it if you have it.....

I believe it was a Gionetto behind the wheel... But don't quote me on that. As mentioned above, it used to be Chris Walraven.

We use to store the two-seater that Kenny Wallace owns now at our shop in Charlotte.
We heard a story one that someone paid good money to a charity for Steve Kinser to take him around Knoxville. Kinser ended up flipping badly and hitting the fence.
All the officials went running for the wrecked car thinking "Oh God, we're getting sued." The guy hoped out of the car with the biggest smile ever loving life and couldn't wait to do it again.... "I almost cleared the fence at Knoxville with the King driving! How f'ng cool is that?"
I'm not guaranteeing this story as non-fiction!

It's fiction. The Dave Blaney experience was driven by the guys who owned it, don't recall them ever crashing at Knoxville ever (they did have motor issues as I recall).
I don't recall any two seater at Knoxville ever crashing, but seems like they have a lot of mechanical failures (I do know that Hewitt flipped one somewhere in Ohio I think it was).

I remember him having a huge smile at the FRC Challenge when TMAC has him out in his two-seater as well,

My girlfriend isn't much of a sprint car fan but tags along with me, over the winter I got a ride for the Knoxville two-seater through an auction and decided to let her go for the ride. She loved it and is ready to go again next year and is even looking into doing a driving school. Certainly made her more of a fan now!
