Kind of reminds me of what Justin and Rod Henderson did 10 or so years ago. The old D1 car did not have a lot of funding and they did the tour for a couple of years. Now Justin is an above average driver and he takes care of his equipment. I think they're doing the right things and will get their opportunitys.

That is an excellent comparison. The year Justin took that car to a top 10 finish at the Knoxville Nationals was a huge indication that the boy had talent. Taking his lumps those 2 years on the tour couldn't have been a lot of fun, but look what kind of driver he has become.

Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

There may not be a better teacher on the road than Bobby Allen and most people in the know will tell you this.  His attempt to teach these kids the ins and outs of a very tough business is a challenge few would take and it takes a man who is ego free to do this.  Everybody from back in the day has a Bobby Allen story about seeing them rebuilding a car at a truck stop or an abandoned farm or house on the side of the road and it's this tenacity that he will pass along to the kids.  If they have the talent combined with what Bobby has taught them they will be much better going forward.  What is wrong with starting at the bottom and working your way up, the American way, old school.  This is what makes your country the greatest on the planet and why my almost 20 years down there were my greatest ever....Should I ever hit the lotto, play twice a week, you can bet there will be a couple of Riders or Don Otts heading that way, go get 'em Scruffy....

I love the fact the Allens are on the full tour and making a low budget go of it. Hopefully some money will come there way. I'm with MSPN, I hit the lotto they would be the first team I help.

maybe FORD97 is the guy Darrah punched in Knoxville a few years ago.

I guess if you just said he hadn't made the most of his Outlaw ride with KKR, I'd agree with you.  But, to say he's lacking talent is a bit of a stretch.  He's shown he has talent.  Not "winning eight or so Outlaw shows in a year" talent, but talent nonetheless.

I guess we're just arguing semantics, which is never productive.

Anyway, back on topic.... I hope Logan can get a win before the year is out.  He's been getting closer and closer.  I've been noticing hard chargers occurring more frequently (both nights at I-55 come to mind).  However, that also means he's not starting towards the front though.  Gotta improve the starting positions on the grid.

I feel Bob has given the kids a chance they would have never recieved by hangin in Pa. The only problem u develop by running with the Outlaws is how to come from the back because if u unload & time slow u will never make big enough strides to come to the front. As for winning in Pa on as a regular participant would be a challenge well above what they face every WOO now.

The Chesson boys were a fine example. Could time very fast most nights, but if not they usually could not even make the show back here in Pa. Couldn't pass cars because unless u learn in the handicap system u will fail to manuever your way to the front. Henderson, Pittman, Jason Johnson & Hodnett are fine examples of learning how to race because they came back to Pa to learn how to race.

I rest my case.

If Logan or Jacob have the talent they may get their chance to show the talent, if not I hope they enjoy a life as most wannabees can only envision & have no idea how much blood, sweat and time they need to contribute to have a dream come true.

All my honest opinion, but have lived it & watched it happen over & over.

Go Team Shark & The Gypsy tour Bus!!!!

Not to get off topic here, but according to your statement, the only place to learn how to drive is in PA....I would have to argue against that PA is the ONLY place to learn how to drive.  If you take the top 5 in WoO points, little to no PA experience outside of Outlaw visits.

And for every one success story like Pittman, you have your Darrah that was just an average WoO driver. That isn't a bash of Darrah, that is just saying that for being in similar equipment as Pittman, finishing over 1,000 points behind him both years, it isn't just the equipment.
