Sunday morning, August 16th, Ray (Raymond) Welnack of Forney Texas passed away due to natural causes.

Ray drove his familiar #16 sprint car at several DFW area tracks, and has raced for several decades.

A proper obituary and details regarding the services will be posted when available, and at: http://www.RestlandFuneralHome.com

Ray will be missed by all that he came in contact with, and was a good friend to many.

Hi,

Thanks for the information. I am curious if you have any other photos of Ray (or his car) and if not, if you might possibly know where I can find them?

Here's a pretty clean pic I took of his car on 5/3/14 at RPM Speedway (Crandall, TX). We were at his big shop in Forney on several occasions, but I'm not finding any other pictures at the moment. If I come across more I'll post them here.

Ray was a great guy. Down-to-earth, meat 'n potatoes type of a person and was fun to be around.  Smile
