Sunday morning, August 16th, Ray (Raymond) Welnack of Forney Texas passed away due to natural causes. Ray drove his familiar #16 sprint car at several DFW area tracks, and has raced for several decades. Raymond Daniel Welnack
Raymond Welnack was born December 31, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan and passed away August 16, 2015 in Carrollton, Texas. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, August 22, 2015 in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243 at Restland Road.

Hi,
Thanks for the information. I am curious if you have any other photos of Ray (or his car) and if not, if you might possibly know where I can find them?

Here's a pretty clean pic I took of his car on 5/3/14 at RPM Speedway (Crandall, TX). We were at his big shop in Forney on several occasions, but I'm not finding any other pictures at the moment. If I come across more I'll post them here.
Ray was a great guy. Down-to-earth, meat 'n potatoes type of a person and was fun to be around.
