Rod Richards of Van Meter, Iowa was laid to rest Saturday afternoon, August 15th. Rod loved sprint cars and started racing in 1997, competing in the 360 class at Knoxville and several other tracks in Iowa and the Midwest. He had to hang up his helmet in 2012 after being diagnosed with cancer. He fought a courageous battle until the very end, never giving up hope until the Lord called him home. Rod will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
