Thanks for your efforts Robert. You're a gentleman. The idea that a person is a bad person if they are trying to improve broken stuff that they love is killing our country and our sport. Tough love is just about dead.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

No post from Robert since I asked him to post the cost to teams of converting their current motors to his limited compression motor. You know, his idea to help low dollar teams by making them spend more money to be able to keep racing!
If Altman & mithless think sprint car racing is broken and needs fixed they need to go find something else to watch for fun. Should be smart enough to know posting on a message board is not going to bring any change to sprint car racing.

I am who I am , Robert Altman . Maybe you don't agree with my ideas , opinions, or thoughts but I am probably one of the most passionate fans anywhere and will always be about you the fans , drivers, car owners and all concerned in this great business and sport . Most or all of my critics don't know me and who I am or what I do or stand for . Anyone who actually knows me will tell you what I've tried or done over many years around the racing circles for fans , drivers, promoters ,car owners and tracks. I have more I would like to accomplish before I leave this earth and hope to get it done . I respect all fans and there opinions but there is so much to know about the inner workings of tracks , sanctioning bodies that most people don't really know about . I can only say that I do whatever I can for all concerned in racing as only one person , so would hope you the readers of Hoseheads can respect me the way I respect you , Thanks Robert Altman

In all seriousness, I wish people wouldn't get so hostile about your ideas

I don't know what it would cost but somekind of compression ratio would make these motors last longer and would save them money , I think, what do you think ? As I see it the great WRG is doing nothing to save the teams money ,are they ? Oh , they pay there pit fees if there a member or sign a contract with the WoO AND PAY THEM EXTRA MONEY some times is what I've heard . Let me tell you point blank I have nothing but respect for these teams , drivers and owners . I would like to see a better world for them wouldn't you Mr. Oswald . You wanted more honesty and I will give it too you , ok . I don't have all the answers like a lot of people on here think , I don't think anyone does , do you ? even the WRG doesn't , they want to make money on you and everyone else that much I do know , oh , yes I know thats there business . They don't care about racing , making money or they would try to improve things more . I know you won't agree on that either , but thats my opinion from what I've seen .

So you want low dollar teams to spend money rebuilding their motors to your compression limit by buying a new crankshaft, rods, heads? That added expense would drive a lot of low budget owners out of the sport. Stupid idea if you do not know what the added cost vs savings would be. You consult with so many higher ups in the sport you should be able to find out. A team with 1 motor that runs all season & only refresh it once may not save enough to offset the cost of converting it to a lower compression for a long time. Terry McCarl has gotten 18 nights on his Rider 410 motors without a refresh. And was still winning.
Why not do some research and think things through to see if your ideas are feasible before posting them?

Uncivil discourse is alive and well. If you do not like his ideas/opinions go onto another post.

Maybe I should do more research , but I did not say just low budget teams , why not all teams to help them save money in the end to get more races out of a motor . Most teams in most places are just about out of motors except the money teams , that is one reason why you see lower car counts this time of year . Also I don't want them to rebuild a motor but to start out with a lower compression ratio motor .

So you want every team in the country to buy all new motors? But you say alot of teams are out of money for motors now that is why car counts are down late in the season. Plus you will eliminate any market for their current motor so they can not sell them. They will not be legal anymore. You are going to save teams so much money nobody will be able to afford to race...except those big money WRG teams.
Talk to you again in about a month when you post the same crap again. Bye.

I am offering to buy you a season pass to Hershey Park next year in exchange for no posts on this website.
The entire message board is my witness and you can find me in e top row on the back stretch at the Grove most weeks...i will even drive you from the track to the park office to make sure you don't spend the money on candy cigaretotes instead.

From all the negativity you both post here , I'd have thought already, that you two car pooled to the races. Or that you were the same person.

Engines arent that expensive. RPM kills them quicker than compression.
A tire rule, wing angle rule, weight rule etc. would bring the cost down quicker than a compression rule.
I wish people would quit trying to make everything "fair" for everyone.
Its an expensive sport. Period. Play the game or find a new one.
