There never should have been a doubt , especially starting on pole , a stop for fuel and tires , its time to give fans a better race for there money , shorter distance, no tires , and no fuel stop . This team is just superior to the other teams especially at Knoxville .

He still would have won if it was 30 laps or 40.

I had no problem with the race and I'm not even a Schatz fan. Shorter distance and no fuel stop just will make him win in a shorter amount of time. I wanted to go out to Knoxville this year but work prevented it from happening. If i did i would not have felt cheated for 50 laps and a fuel stop. I actually think its kind of cool for teams to get an opportunity to adjust midway. Its the Knoxville Nationals, the biggest race in sprint car racing, the best car should win. I had to watch it on the cushion and felt the event was great. I'm sure a lot of people will be dissappointed since its like going to watch your favorite team play in the super bowl and they lose but that doesnt mean it wasnt a good game.

He led every lap. How would a shorter race have been a better race for the fans?

Everyone is right to a point but if shorter or other things can be done then it changes teams strategy ,makes teams run harder , tire wear, fuel , etc. But right now the Donny Schatz team is JUST SUPERIOR TO THE OTHERS and Donny Has Ricky Warner the best since Karl Kinser . I know what I would do but it won't happen these teams like it the way it is .

Oh here we go again. The great sprint car brain knows how to "fix" the Knoxville Nationals but he is not going to tell us. It is so easy to say you have the answers when you never give them!

I liked what Madsen said after chasing him for 50 laps, (not exact quote), 'race after race, all he does is compliment his team, never taking credit for anything, but what's amazing is his driving ability, he's just an amazing driver, believe me I watched it for 50 laps'.
Lawlessness + liberalism = HELL - NYC, Detroit, Chicago,
Seattle, LA Who the H runs those cities.

Why state what I would do , You and others will contradict me , right ? I don't have the answers but I would like to see don't allow teams to change tires, a fuel stop only , no 50 lap race but most fans seem to like it , the added distance , its like two 25 lap races. Its good for all teams but not necessarily makes a good race . Costs are rising every year and to me this is not good except for the money teams who finished in the top 4 spots ? interesting . I would like to see other things done but maybe another time .But the way I see it ,as long as fans pack the WoO RACES nothing will get better , just more follow the leader races most of the time but then sometimes we see a good race if track conditions are right or on a smaller track to harness the speed. Ok , I know you and others won't agree but thats my opinion whats yours ?

My opinion? It was a great week. I enjoyed it ALL. Saw a lot of great racing. Donny is Awesome right now. In 15 years I will be happy I got to see him in his prime like I am now about Steve and the Opp! I ENJOY SPRINT CAR RACING!!! I do not watch it just to find something to complain about. Yes, I see some poor races. I have seen some shitty Super Bowls & World Series also!!! So go send letters to MLB & NFL and fix them and leave us alone.
You say you're a big fan but post nothing but how you would change the sport to fix it. I have no idea how you could possibly enjoy even the best race when you are always looking for something negetive so you can post you know what changes to make to make it better.

Donny is "The Don" and has been for a while now - but this year seems to be at the absolute top of his game.

Knoxville weekly show had the best car count and highest quality field in years this season and the Nationals car count was very good too! But all you post is how all the teams are going out of business.
With out the 50 lap A main Schatz would have won the 50th Nationals also and we would not have gotten to see the great battle between him and Sammy for those second 25 laps!
Don't like it then DON'T WATCH IT!! Everyonre I was with had a great time and nobody had anything negetive to say about the whole 10 days except they would like to see a different winner.

I thank you for your response and I don't try to be negative but it may come across like that . Yes , I have things I would like to see done and acted upon but most of the time it won't happen . In time or when I make comments appropriate to a thread I will make them . I will hold nothing back and hope that people like you gain some respect for my opinions . Thank you for you response and opinion .

I agree, it would be nice to see someone else win. It seems the crowed is getting tired of him they don't cheer or even boo him like they use to. Donny makes the Nationals a main boring. With Donny being so good, maybe he should go to cashcar and take Danica's seat.
