Saturday 410s - 5k to win
Sunday 360s - 2.5k to win
Gold Cup the week after Knoxville Nats. 50k to win EACH 410 wing and 410 non wing. 25k bonus to sweep.
This track will either fail miserably or become the biggest thing in dirt track racing.

Definitely intriguing but I just can't see it drawing the crowd they'll look for right on the heels of the Nationals. It will draw similarly to a bigger NSL or WoO event.

Not sure I get the wisdom of a non winged show in South Dakota paying 50k to win, but definitely intriguing.

Is this purse top heavy or does it stay fairly high back through the field?

The Gold Cup already exists as it has for over 50 years in California. This Badlands guy sure comes across as a selfish greaseball.
Cheers!

I believe the Gold Cup at Chico was officially the Gold Cup Race of Champions. Husets did host a Gold Cup a number of times, including 20,000 win back in either the late 80s or early 90's.

250k for three days. 50k to each winner leaves 150k for the rest of the event. those are all the numbers I saw for now. the name is officially Rock and Roll Gold Cup with a rock concert the day before racing. So partially original.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering more about the weekly shows that pay 5k to win.

Strange comment. Huge purse for both classes and you're complaining? About what exactly?

Strange? I dont think so. I was pointing out that this guy disregards the history of our sport. He denegrated Knoxville and now is hosting a race with the same basic name as another historic event. Make sense to you now?
Cheers!

Edmonton also has a Gold Cup too if I'm not mistaken

I'm with you. The midwest simply doesnt have the infastructure to support two large 410 shows on the same night 5 hours apart. When your number one goal is to try and put Knoxville in the ground and not better the sport your probably a selfish greaseball. I will NOT be attending any shows at HUSETS until they go back to Sundays if they ever do.

Henry, how is using the Gold Cup name dengrating a race, when Husets has hosted a Gold Cup race a number of times, and it was a sanctioned WoO Gumout race.....
King Kinser's kid to race at Husets
August 14, 2000, 12:00 AM
The 8th annual Husets Gold Cup runs this Saturday in Brandon. Steve Kinser will not be here, but it sounds like the King's kid, 15-year-old Kraig Kinser, will be.
"This Saturday night we plan on Steve Kinser's son being here," says Husets Speedway owner Steve Rubin. "Kraig Kinser will be running Randy Kinser's car. Steve's brother (Randy) is having some back surgery. So Steve Kinser's son is planning on being here."
The Gold Cup will be a little different this year. Jac Haudenshild won it last year, but he and most of the big boys will not run this year. Instead, it will be Kraig Kinser and the rest of the up-and-coming Outlaw drivers on the Gumout Support series.
Tickets for the Gold Cup are on sale right now at Husets. They're 20 dollars for adults and 5 dollars for kids under 14.
From WoO Preview
Jac Haudenschild has six career wins at Huset's Speedway, with five of those coming in 1991, when he was behind the wheel of the No. 5 for Forbrook Motorsports. He also won the $20,000 Gold Cup at the track in 1999.

Well I guess I learn something new every day. I hadn't realized that they had a race prior that was called Gold Cup. I can admit when I was wrong.
Cheers!

From what I read it won't be the same weekend as Knoxville it will be the week after Nationals.

The question that begs is: Why the hell they would care anything about naming something that has a historical significance when they are shitting on the one thing that has the most historical significance of all? The track name!

Looks like the new owner of the Speedway is in a little hot water also, from a couple weeks back.

Interesting idea for a race, bad name. Why not use something like Battle at Badlands?
