The reason the Nationals format is perfect is because every time a driver is one the track, he has to be fast to score lots of points. Stewart started on the pole and passed no one in the feature. More points is the reward drivers get for being fast in time trials, then passing cars in the feature. Eighth to second in the feature is much more impressive to me than winning off the pole, and deserves a higher point total.

I think David Gravel has a real shot at Schatz. David started in the same row and kept up with Donny. He looked incredibly smooth and fast. Could run anywhere on the track last night. Looked good back in June... Not saying he is going to win, but at this point I dont know who else is a bigger threat.

Thanks to everyone who works so hard on The Chusion broadcast. The bugs have worked themselves out nicely throughout the season.

The point still stands that Shane was drastically hurt by his pill draw. It's not his fault the track fell off a ton in qualifying and he had a bad pill draw.

Just look at the qualifying results:

1. Schatz (timed 14th)

2. Gravel (timed 10th)

3. Justyn Cox (timed 1st)

4. Cody Darrah (timed 16th)

5. Sheldon Haud (timed 2nd)

6. Tasker Phillips (timed 17th)

7. Matt Covington (timed 4th)

8. Paul McMahan (timed 46th)

9. Bob Weuve (timed 5th)

10. Rico Abreu (timed 41st)

McMahan and Rico are the only ones who had success late - Bob Weuve timing ninth tells you everything you need to know.

You have a point there, not so sure about "perfect" tho (but what is?)

Upon further thought, it occurred to me that one good thing about this format is that, with invert of 8 in both heats & A-Main, it gives slow qualifiers a chance to win some $$$, while keeping fast timers in contention for BIG$$$ on Saturday

I'm OK with it
