RRS 8/7 RACE WEEK UPDATES: $10 CARLOAD NIGHT! $1,000/win MODS; PLUS SPRINTS & MORE!
Wichita Falls, TX (8/3/15) by DarinShort.com. Here's a great chance for race fans to take in a special race at Red River Speedway (RRS) - at a very 'special' price! This coming Friday, August 7th, RRS will host its first-ever "$10 CARLOAD NIGHT" featuring the USRA Modifieds racing for $1,000 to win! The Winged Sprint Cars, SportMods, Pro Stocks and Mini Stocks will round out the 5-division racing program.
Here's how the August 7th $10 CARLOAD NIGHT promotion will work:
- As fans arrive at the RRS property entrance on race night, they will be greeted on the road (inside the property) by RRS gate attendants.
-The RRS attendant will collect $10 per carload, and in return, issue a general admission ticket for each person inside the vehicle (to the August 7th event).
-Fans will then park their vehicle, and each fan will then present their ticket to the grandstand gate attendant.
-There is no added cost for fans to attend this full and fun night of racing, but you must present your admission ticket at the ticket gate to gain grandstand admittance.
-Note that no food/beverage is allowed beyond the grandstand gate entrance (as always). Food/beverage is available underneath the grandstand area at economical prices.
-A 'pop up' drink station is also planned, so fans can grab a bottle of water or soft drink without having to get in the main concession stand line. Several beer varieties are also available for purchase at the beer stand under the grandstand area. Reminder, we also have Snowcones for sale in the Kids Corner under the grandstand area.
-Fans are allowed to 'tailgate' in the parking lot area, but we request they clean up their space afterwards, so it will allow us to continue that policy in the future.
-If you have a race car hauler arriving to the track that has people in it that will be going into the grandstand area, the same procedure will be in effect: each fan inside the will receive a grandstand ticket after the RRS attendant receives $10 for the vehicle. The remaining individuals in the race car hauler will proceed to the pit area to purchase pit passes, as normal.
- Reminder, each fan must have a grandstand ticket to access the grandstand area, or they will have to pay $10 to get in. So please make sure to have your grandstand tickets in hand when approaching the ticket gate entrance.
-Pit Gates open by 5pm, Grandstands open at 6pm, Draw Cutoff at 7:15pm, with Racing by 8pm.
-Grandstand admission on Friday August 7th is $10 per carload. All pit passes, all ages $30.
-All posted rules at http://www.RRSpeedway.com will be in effect for all race divisions. Mufflers or cone-type inserts are required for all cars in all divisions.
The purse structure for racing divisions for Friday, August 7th is as follows:
-The Modifieds will be racing for the following bumped-up purse for Friday August 7th, with no added pit pass cost or entry fee: $1,000 - 500 - 400 - 350 - 300 (5th) - 250 - 225 - 200 - 190 - 180 (10th) - 170 - 160 - 150 - 140 - 135 (15th) - 130 - 125...to 24th! (Note 24 starters, not 20!)
-RaceSaver Sprint Cars (see our website for division rules): $700 - 500 - 400 - 350 - 300 (5th) - 250 - 200 - 180 - 160 - 150 (10th) - 140 - 130 - 120 - 110 - 100...to start. However, if there are 21 or more Sprint Cars, then the total purse jumps from $4,290 to $5,180! The '21 and up' purse for the Sprint Cars is as follows: $700 - 500 - 400 - 350 - 300 (5th) - 250 - 225 - 200 - 190 - 180 (10th) - 170 - 160 - 150 - 140 - 135 (15th) - 130 - 125...to 24th! (Note 24 starters, not 20!)
-IMCA Southern SportMods: $400 - 300 - 200 - 170 - 150 (5th) - 130 - 120 - 100 - 90 - 80 (10th) - 75 - 70 - 65 - 60...to start. If there are 21 cars or more on a normally scheduled night, the total A-feature purse jumps from $2,370 to $3,115! The '21 cars and up' IMCA Southern SportMod A-feature purse is as follows: $500 - 300 - 250 - 200 - 175 (5th) - 150 - 130 - 120 - 110 - 100 (10th) - 90 - 85 - 80 - 75...to 24th! (Note 24 starters, not 20!)
-The Pro Stocks/I-Stock (100% IMCA legal Stock Cars and Factory Stocks are now legal to run in the Pro Stock division in 2015. Factory Stocks can choose to run the Pro Stock tire rule if they choose) will each be competing for the following purse structure - unless otherwise noted: $300 - 200 - 180 - 160 - 140 - 120 (5th) - 100 - 80 - 60 - 40...to start. Effective 7/10/15, on regularly scheduled events with $30 pit passes, if there are under 10 Pro Stocks that sign in on race night, their purse will be the same as the Mini Stock purse (as follows).
-The Mini Stocks will be competing for the following purse structure - unless otherwise noted: $300 - 150 - 125 - 100 - 80 - 60 - 40...to start.

THURSDAY MORNING RRS RACE UPDATE for FRIDAY, AUGUST 7:
Note that at 8pm race time on Friday night, it will be 97 degrees and dry with a 9mph cross breeze, and the setting sun to your back (behind the grandstand) with temps dropping into the mid-80's throughout the racing program...so you won't be sitting out in the sun during the races.
Reminder that we will also have a 'pop up' drink station (water and soft drinks), so you won't have to get in the concession stand line if all you want is a drink.
