I don't know if I am good or not, no one on Hoseheads has told me yet

You're alright... when your motor stays together!  Smile

Hoping to see you on the track again at Knoxville soon 88sprint (your my 12 year old son's favorite driver (all classes)).  He's been bummed all season because he hasn't seen you race (he was gone to a Boy Scout Camp the week you blew up).

I just read back this thread, now I see why 88 was so confused.  sadiesue was complaining about the quality of the BROADCAST not the race and he got confused and his feelings were hurt.  Maybe he can re-read this thread and repost, as far as Vande goes, I'll just put you in the cheerleading category and you were just as confused, maybe a reread would help you as well.  Think my work is done here, hope so....    I have reached out to The Cushion to ask if they are selling complete packages and day-by-day packages as well, hope the latter is the correct answer....

Been going to at least Saturday night of the 410 Nationals since 1969 (Went to the whole show from '69 through '06, but due to work, only Friday and Saturday or just Saturday since '06.) True, there's been some dogs, but there's also been some great racing on Saturday night. That's the chance you take going to any race.

MSPN,  just because Saturday of Nationals is not your cup of tea doesn't bother me one bit.

Is the the most exciting night of racing during Nationals?  No, usually not, but even those have been way better than 99% of the WoO races I've attended during that same span.

The new Friday Night format makes Friday night even more fun than Wednesday/Thursday IMO (just can't have any of that darn R-word on Wednesday or Thursday for them to use that format).

The old Friday format seemed like a waste, but I saw some great racing almost every time on those Friday Night shows the past 35 years (and one Sunday when Billy Pauch won).  Maybe because the "star power" of 7 cars aren't usually running that night that keeps people away.

As far as the prices of the PPV mentioned.  I personally don't think they are out of line, if anything it almost seems unfair that it's CHEAPER to watch at home (with as many people as you want) than it is to sit in the stands.  IMO, it should cost the same amount to watch at home as it does for a ticket in the stands.

The trick is going to be how tracks (not just Knoxville) can offer digital media to those in attendance that is only available at the track to get the younger generation to come year after year (replays not just on the bigscreen, but on your phone for example).

No complaint about the PPV pricing, money is not my issue whatsoever, all I hope to see is Wed and Thurs and maybe Friday if a bunch of big dogs don't do well on their qualifying night.  As far as watching with a group of people that ain't happeing up here, lol.....PS....did you figure out the error of earlier or should I just drop it and go play with the Posse fans coz' the Outlaws are in town, pretty bored here....

better play with the Posse crowd.....I'm sure even if you compliment them, they'll consider it a fight!

My hope is Schatz has a bad year like Wolfie did a few times.  Qualify mid-pack, bad luck (MSD box failure for example) during the heat and not make prelim feature and then repeat that on Friday and have to make a run through the Alphabet on Saturday (out of today's crop, he's the only one I think that could run from the E-A main on a Saturday night these days (and even then, may be capable of winning).

Fans may change their tune if he has to make one of those runs -- that made even the non-Wolfgang fans into Wolfgang fans.

Me and you both!!  We are going to wait and see what they do with rules this winter before we try to rebuild, didn't see the point in putting it back together for a couple races just to have to change it over the winter again.  In the mean time we will be running some of the Sprint Invader stuff in southern Iowa.

No confusion at all and no hurt feelings, there is nothing you could say on a message board to hurt my feelings

Any chance of running in the 360 class at Knoxville next year? I'd say you looked pretty competitive at Bloomfield last week plus you now have a decent amount of experience at Knoxville.

88 would never try to hurt your feelings.  I had many, many racer friends when I worked in this sport back in the day and most of them were weekend warriors like yourself, you are what makes this sport what it is, not the big dogs.  Continued good/better luck with your endeavors (motor issues etc.), be safe out there....

Always enjoy your posts, Mike.  I have never understood the racing critics.  The truth is the truth and it sometimes hurts.  This is the only sport I know of where if a person develops his talents and becomes a level above the rest everyone starts to hate him and prays that he loses.  Other sports we flock to see the person who has mastered his sport.  I am not a big Schatz fan but if he continues on and wins the next 10 Nationals I would cheer and enjoy it as I am sitting there witnessing history being made by a man that will certainly go down as one of the best there ever was.  I would put him in the top three right now and very close to the top two.  Sorry, but that is the way I look at it.  Now the haters can hate and Mike I am really going to miss you and Kim this year.  Let me know via email what we are going to do with your package and chocolates.  lol.  Take care, Brother.

My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

I would love to move up to 360 at Knoxville, need some more funds to make it happen though.  I am always looking for new opportunities, maybe something will come my way for next year.  Fingers crossed for it anyway!!  We fought an engine problem at Bloomfield, I think we narrowed it down to the MSD box was cutting out.  Wish we could have had a better showing up there but we came out with the car in 1 piece so that is a plus!  We are planning to run with them more later in the year so hoping for some better luck.
