Series Stops At
Jackson Speedway
JACKSON, MN – The second night of the 2015 Jackson Speedway Touring Series Speedweek Series stopped at the home track of Jackson Speedway Thursday, July 16, bringing 28 360 winged sprints to compete. Making the night a Sprint Car Lovers Dream night, the JSTS Sprints were joined by 12 IMCA RaceSaver 305 winged sprints in their first-ever appearance at the historic half-mile oval and 10 wingless sprints of the Heartland Racing Association. A total of 19 IMCA Hobby Stocks rounded out the field for the Thursday night show for a total of 69 cars.
Feature racing action saw Justin Nehring of Storm Lake, MN, capture the Loosbrock Digging Service IMCA Hobby Stock feature, while in the IMCA 305 RaceSaver winged sprint feature win went to Nate Eakin of Lake Park, IA. Winning the Heartland Racing Association wingless sprint heat was Tony Rustad of Pipestone, MN and the Jackson Speedway Touring Series 360 Winged Sprint feature win went to Ian Madsen of Grimes, IA.
In heat race action, the Hobby Stock heat wins went to Keeran Sampson, DJ Clinton and Cory Probst. Winning IMCA 305 Sprint Car heats were Nate Eakin and Pat Holloman while the HRA Wingless Sprint car heat wins were both claimed by Bret Mellenberndt. The JSTS 360 Winged Sprint Car heat winners were Ian Madsen, Logan Forler, Danny Lasoski and Skylar Prochaska.
The JSTS Speedweek Series continues Friday night, July 17, at the Fairmont Speedway in Fairmont, MN and concludes Saturday night, July 18, back at the Jackson Speedway.
The following week will also be filled with racing action for the 2015 Jackson County Fair, with a return visit of the FVP-National Sprint League on Thursday, July 23, sponsored by Abdo, Eick & Meyers, Pioneer Seeds and Tri County Implement and the Barb Wieskus Memorial racesand Jackson Speedway Hall of Fame Night on Saturday, July 25, with racing sponsored by Houseman Oil of Estherville, IA and Jackson Sports of Jackson, MN.. Hot Laps will start at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow and Fireworks over the speedway at the conclusion of the evening’s racing program.
