The season is at the halfway point and he has 20 wins in 43 races. 43 more races to go. He is usually hotter in the second half. Will he win 20 more?

On MAVTV Schatz attributed his success to working with a personal trainer, trying to eat better, they concentrated on shocks (they run a couple of different types built by different people) and being with J&J and Shaver so long.

I am leaning towards a "cool-off".  I have absolutely no reason to say that as he is just on fire.  However, if he does then everyone will think I am clairvoyant!      Smile

Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint

I predicted 30 or better before the year started! 40 could definitely happen as hot as he is right now?!?!

The only thing better than Travis posting about Fords is, well, nothing. Be a sprint car fan and not a brand fan, dude. It is way better for the sport.

And to reply seriously, I would not be surprised and voted Yes for Donny winning 40. I don't know what he's up to, but the guy just races differently and better than everyone else. I've watched a ton of videos on TheCushion.com and Donny rarely has to slide job people like they do him. He somehow finds a way to get the bite off the middle/bottom without needing to slide for the lead. He and his crew have a long standing relationship that is working and from the black/white results he is the driver of this generation.

Gotcha EZ, if anyone would know, you would brotherSmile

It looks like he won 18 more from this point in the schedule on last year? So he would have to up that by two this year to pull off 40?

Year over year I also still think Schatz losing weight helped double because now they are probably down to 1400 lbs. A tenth is a tenth.

Overall Schatz and Warner working together so long are still the main reason for their continued success however.

I voted no and I also predicted before the year started that he will not win the Knoxville Nationals this year. And I am sticking to that. He could not win another race this year and it is still a better year than 99.9% of guys will ever have.

5 rainouts and 6 races at wg and port royal. I bet he wins 30+ but I dont see him winning every nite in pa like he has everywhere else. So then I wanna ask another question.....how many in pa does he win? I say 1. Maybe 2.

Let's see where he is the favorite this year:

Lernerville, Williams Grove (1 of 2), Oshweken, Brockville, Drummond, Knoxville, Junction, River Cities, Nodak, Castrol (2), Skagit (2), Grays Harbor, Clay County, Deer Creek, Berlin, Grove (1 of 3), Rolling Wheels, Lawrenceburg, Utica Rome, Charlotte (1 of 2).

That's 22, would anyone be surprised if he won all of those races?

Whats the record for WoO wins in a season?

Steve Kinser, 1987 with 46 wins (24 of the last 26 events).....His biggest threats, Sammy and Doug both ran limited schedules with the WoO that year. Doug's schedule was very limited. Was the last year he ran the Weikert #29. Sammy was concentrating on Indy and had 3 different rides that year. The last of which was a new ride that lasted several years....the TMC #1.
