FVP National Sprint League in Knoxville Saturday for “Heroes Night”!
Windom, MN (July 1, 2015) – Independence Day is a time to celebrate many things here in the greatest nation in the world! On Saturday, July 4, the FVP National Sprint League will be a part of “Heroes Night” at the Knoxville Raceway in Iowa. The Knoxville event is the second of the weekend for the NSL. They will also be racing for $5,000 Friday night, July 3, at the Huset’s Speedway near Brandon, South Dakota.
“Heroes Night” at Knoxville will honor those who sacrifice for our freedom. It is a chance to honor active and retired military, EMS workers, firefighters and law enforcement officers. Those service members can purchase half-price tickets at the box office with an ID Badge.
Saturday will mark the third of four visits to Knoxville for the NSL in 2015. Point leader, Danny Lasoski won the first two events held at the “Sprint Car Capital of the World”. For “The Dude”, last Saturday’s NSL victory at Knoxville was his third of the season with the series, and his fourth of the year at Knoxville. So far, Danny is the only driver to win an eligibility race for the DeBerg Concrete $25,000 Triple Crown Challenge heading into this weekend’s action.
A number of drivers are looking to knock Lasoski from the top of the podium! Two-time track champ, Brian Brown, has settled himself into second in the NSL standings heading into the weekend, ahead of two-time “King of California”, Tim Kaeding, seven-time Knoxville track champion, Terry McCarl and “Dynamite” Mark Dobmeier, who picked up a win at the Huset’s Speedway last Sunday night.
Other NSL members expected to compete include seven-time IRA champion, Bill Balog, nine-time Australian World Series Sprintcars champion, Brooke Tatnell, defending Knoxville Raceway champion, Ian Madsen, current Huset’s co-point leader, Dusty Zomer, and two-time USAC sprint and midget champion, Bryan Clauson. Other NSL favorites sure to be on hand include Craig Dollansky, Davey Heskin, Austin McCarl, Lynton Jeffrey, Matt Juhl, Chris Martin, Josh Schneiderman, Tasker Phillips, Dakota Hendrickson, Ryan Bunton Paul Nienhiser and more!
Justin Henderson will lead the Knoxville regulars into Saturday’s events. He finished second in last weekend’s main event after setting quick time. The Sioux Falls driver will be joined by Pleasantville, Iowa’s Bronson Maeschen, who finished fourth last weekend, Indianola Iowa’s Dustin Selvage, Tampa, Florida’s RJ Johnson and many more!
Grandstand gates open at 6:00 p.m. Saturday. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:45 p.m. with qualifying and racing to follow. Admission is $15 for adults 20+, youth 13-19 are $8 and youth 6-12 are $4. Children 5 and under are FREE! Pit passes are $25. Service members including active or retired military, EMS workers, firefighters and law enforcement officers can purchase ½-price tickets at the box office with an ID badge.
DeBerg Concrete $25,000 Triple Crown Challenge
To be eligible for a $25,000 bonus from DeBerg Concrete, drivers must win at least one of the four FVP National Sprint League events scheduled for the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. Another FVP National Sprint League race must be won at the Huset’s Speedway. The third and final venue for the DeBerg Concrete Triple Crown Challenge will be the Jackson Nationals finale at the Jackson Speedway in Jackson, Minnesota on Saturday, September 5. Two drivers could be eligible for the bonus heading into the event at Jackson Speedway.
