Sammy can do whatever he wants. Heck, he helped build up the sport to where it is today,..... along with two other guys.
We can consider him retired from full time driving....However, with someone like him, who has had such a desire to compete and win, I am sure he just couldn't stay away from it entirely.

Does your wife have a sister thats exactly the same as her? Im 25 yrs old. 6'1" 225. Id say a mix between brad pitt and bradley cooper.. let me know...thanx in advance..

I bought my oldest daughter a Sammy shirt when she was nine. Now she's 40 and has three kids and the oldest is ten. I'm not sure why Sammy would announce his retirement then come back racing the next season. I sure as hell won't do that when my retirement date comes in a couple of years. Sammy hater? That's a pretty harsh term for some of us who were buying our kids Sammy shirts before the internet existed. LOL

Very accurate statement. I am guilty as charged. Is there any other driver who garners such divided (love him or hate him)attention ?

To be fair to the Slammer, I believe that hsi announcement at the end of last summer said that he was retiring from "full time competition". In fact I think the very same press release said that he might run a little here and a little there, which is exactly what he seems to be doing. Isn't it exactly what Steve Kinser is doing after a very similar (but not so abrupt) statement?
But truth is if I had a dollar for every driver who returned to the cockpit after giving some sort of retirement speech....
