I know you can expect Schatz to sweep the weekend so it dont matter who shows up cause they are all running for second at this point,Tony messed the track up and took alot of banking out of the top and put more in the bottom to middle for Schatz and the trucks, been to every kings royal since it was born and I know I am out cause Eldora has lost its mystique that it had with its frightening high banks, you had to be brave and run the wall to win and now everybody is on the wall..... Thanks Tony for ruining Eldora and the dream that Earl had as a racetrack and thinking you were better then Earl and could improve a masterpiece of a racetrack and turning it into a average race track now, he was fine putting in a scoreboard video tower sweets and updated potties but to mess with the track was pushing it, 4 or 5 years ago Tony messed with the track and Earl had to fix it now thats out the window and so is Eldora for good unless Bernice can fix it for Tony. Now tony took the infield and put new gravel in it and then decided to make it more commercial and take out the infield tower that was a landmark and Earl was really proud of it and ruin that, wont be long guys and gals and it will be pavement and crapcar will race their..... Im out
p.s. Dont start bashing me cause the truth got spilled out

He brought a truck race to his track for $$$$$$$ cant blame him and he has improved the place yes but why rework the track???? Earl didn't have it right is my guess,
answer me why of all things did he mess with the racetrack?????

I'm a fan of Winged Sprint Cars. I'm not an owner of a track or a promoter or an owner of a team or a driver. I would ask all or at least a few of them what they think.
I know one thing I Love going to Eldora for the Kings Royal. Thats the only time I can go there but look forward to it from the time I leave the track to the time I make it back the next year.

I'm a huge winged sprint car fan as well and try to make every sprint car race that is at Eldora probably for the past 8 years since i was introduced to that form of racing. In that time I have not really noticed any significant change to the banking at all so I do not know if it was taken out before this time or not. The first few years I was just amazed at how fast the cars flew around that place so close to the wall but as far as the "racing" aspect it was mostly single file at the top of the race track. In recent years, it seems the track has been a lot more racier. The field does not get a strung out at it did in the past and it seems just as fast as it was back in 08 when i first went to Eldora.
The sprintacular back in 2013 with Haudenchild, Hannigan, and Stewart racing for the lead in the final laps was probably one of the best races I have seen. Last year with Gravel and Pittman swaping the lead and Saldana trying to fend off Schatz was good too. I always try to make it to tracks like Attica, Fremont, Atomic, Etc here in Ohio, but sometimes my schedule does not let me but I always work my schedule around the sprint car races at Eldora.

Back to answer the original question, I would almost guarantee all of the all star drivers will be racing there: Blaney, Darrah, Ryan Smith, Tim Shaffer, Holtgraver, Sheldon Haudenchild, Kemenah, maybe Cole Duncan, Helms,Palker, Wilson, Philo, Hannigan. May get a few of the Fremont/Attica guys like Dean Jacobs, Henry,McFadden, Polyak Mintz, or Andrews (maybe maybe not).
I saw the NSL does not have a race scheduled that week so I'm hoping some of those guys make the trip like Brown, Lasoski, Ian Madsen, Johnson, McCarl, Keading, Clausen. Knoxville has their twin features so some of these guys might stay behind for that show but hopefully a few of them decide to come east. Posse wise, I would think Marks will probably make the tow and Hodnett and Deitrich are possibilities.
Hopefully Haud finds a ride for the show as well,. you also have Dave Blaney and Steve Kinser as possilities as well.
As far as new, they were doing construction to the infield concession stand back in may. Other than that, nothing really in the area has changed.

I believe the banking was removed back when Earl still had the keys to the Grader. It was right before they started bringing the NASCAR Stars in to Race the Late Models. Tony Stewart may have however taken even more banking out since Earl left. This will be the 2nd year that I have missed the Kings Royal since "The Million".

The last few Royals have been as racey as ever. No complaints about the track here. Not much has changed that I know of besides the new infield building. Would expect 40-45 cars as usual. Would love to see 60 there every year so they could have a full field for the Royal format, but doubt that ever happens. Excited as ever for the royal again this year!
